Rejected Pre Interview as well 🙁
Lowest MCAT score let in to RFUMS has been a 23.
Experience at RFUMS is variable. The school is located very far from the city near the great lakes navy base so there is little time to visit downtown Chicago. You need a car, if you can get by with ordering peapod for the first two years you will eventually need a car for the last two years because the hospitals are spread all over Illinois and some in Wisconsin.
It is a very small school with limited resources.
Make sure you can handle self learning, do not expect to be taught. Curriculum is best for people who can cram and who are very fast readers. Class size is huge, they often combine lectures with other schools like podiatry and all lectures are essentially given in one very large auditorium.
Do not expect to enjoy your first two years, do not live at the Woodlands.
Are you bitter because you failed step 1 or something? Med school is supposed to be hard it's not a party. Grow up
I read that they met every 3rd Tuesday of the month....I think we should get something soon. good luck!
I would not live at woodlands because they raise your rent every year and don't allow 2 year leases. There have also been some significant maintence concerns such as a fire in building 5 and flooding in building 2. Front desk and office staff are also very rude once you sign your lease. The Navy housing has recently been opening up its housing to students, it's much cheaper and has a better reputation.
I think the lectures at CMS are terrible, that's why nobody attends class. The lecturers come to class and read verbatim off their slides (unless something has changed in recent years). I came from an undergrad university where teaching was the most important part of the educational process. I did not find that at CMS. It's wikki university, nothing is explained unless you look it up yourself. I can't say I've met one student that thinks CMS is a great place to go to medical school after finishing up second year. Also, it is the university that gives least amount of time for boards studying. And our boards scores are exactly the national average. Like I said, if you are a good book learner you'll be fine but if you need a classroom teaching experience you need to reconsider.

You bitter or something cause you got rejected? People asked I answered. You grow up. And no, I did not fail my boards.
I'm pretty sure AJgem got accepted. 😀 Also, it would be a little sad if a medical student isn't capable of self-learning. We can't be spoon fed all our life. CMS stresses the Interprofessional environment....plus all medical professions need to learn the same Basic Sciences....So it makes sense why they decided to combine lectures. I have heard different things from different people. Generally, the majority like CMS. The majority of 1st anf 2nd years at any medical school also hate the difficulty of the 1st and 2nd years so I can (kind of) understand your bitterness. If there is anything to complain about this school, it should be the tuition... =/ ..Good luck to the rest of you waiting to hear back!

called in today admissions office said we should be hearing from them this Friday!
we being people waitlisted and those that may have interviewed since the last month
I hope that means me!
OH MY ****ING GOD IT WAS ME. I'M IN. I DON'T HAVE TO MOVE DOWN SOUTH!
Wow.
called in today admissions office said we should be hearing from them this Friday!
I got put on hold today....interviewed April 9th....think we will still hear something on Friday?
Going to withdraw, hope someone gets my spot. North Chicago is too drab for me
I doubt we will be hearing until after May 15th now I think they gave the Friday date because they don't like to give out adcom meeting specifics
bummer....so does on hold=waitlist?
I sent an updated letter a couple a few weeks after my interview. I gave them an unofficial transcript, spoke about what impressed me about CMS, and let them know about my med-related activities (volunteering, research, shadowing) since my application. It must have worked, because I got accepted the next week!I'm sure it has already been asked, but do they accept update letters or letters of interest? And has anyone done a post-interview one? I know they want updated transcripts, but I didn't see anything about other updates.
