The waiting is killing me. I interviewed on 9/27 with Dr. Cooper, and she said it would likely be about 8 weeks. I emailed her last Wednesday, just a short thanks and "remember me?" email.

Ugh. Aside from the fact that SLU is my top choice, it would also just be nice to have one school "in the bag" to take the edge off.

Anyone hear back yet on acceptance?

You can't hear back until at least 10/17 per AAMC rules.

Does anyone know how SLU communicates acceptances - email, phone call, ... ?

It will be via e-mail first, then via snail mail.

Does anyone know to what date St. Louis' interviews extend to?

Sorry to be inducing panic by bumping this thread up to the top, but does anyone see anything on their status pages? any clues? xD

My status page hasn't changed since being complete...

"The Committee on Admissions will review your application and notify you when a decision is made"

I interviewed in September, hoping for good news :xf:

Good Luck everyone :luck::luck::luck:

oh, and the SLU status page states: "All future communications will be made by e-mail. "

so I don't expect there will be any status page changes....

Thanks haha xD Yeah I saw that message but I was hoping there'd be small clues anyways *sigh*

Good luck :luck:

Looking through last year's thread, it looks like alternates were notified on October 15th (it landed on a weekday last year) and then acceptances were emailed on Oct 16th. Not sure if it will be the same way this year....

Accepted!!!! 🙂 🙂 Interviewed 9/19, got it by email!

alternate list..
interviewed 10/11

I've heard that the alternate list moves quite a bit. However, it's hard to know what to expect because I don't think they tell you your alternate list ranking.

accepted!!!!!
Interview 9/12

Congrats guys! Did you just get the e-mail or did you get it earlier today? I'm trying to figure out whether they're sending acceptances out in batches and I should feel hopeful, or whether they're done for the day ><

Also, anyone interview 9/20 or after hear anything yet?

Interviewed 9/19, no news yet. Dean of admissions said on interview day that it all depends on when the interviewers turn in the forms. I would assume they apply some sort of reasonable deadline...

Accepted! As a reapplicant, I'm so glad to finally be able to say that 🙂

Here's to hoping! Interviewed on 9/12, so I thought I would hear back as soon as they sent out any news

They didn't mention anything about rankings. So, is the alternate list the same as a wait list?

would acceptee's and waitlistee's please let us know e-mail time, haha, really curious to know if this was one batch today or trickle...

Thanks for making allowances for our neuroticism, accepted people!

It looks like there were 2 - 3 waves of acceptances today, mostly consisting of people who interviewed the first two dates. Hopefully they'll have another round of acceptances sometimes this week for the next several dates!

hahah no worries and best wishes to all of you... its the best feeling ever, and im sure ya'll will be there soon enough!

Got the acceptance email just after returning home from US citizenship oath ceremony, what a day~
Interviewed in Feb last cycle, was placed on alternate list, reapplied in August.
I didn't know you could get accepted without being interviewed again this cycle (basically the alternate list extends into the next application cycle?), so it was quite a nice surprise.

Anyone else having problems logging into their status page? Everytime I do, it says my ID is no longer active.

I'm not 100% positive but based on last year's thread it seems the alternate list is the wait list.

If there is a current med student or applicant who knows for sure -- please chime in 🙂

We used the terms interchangeably last year. I think "alternate list" is the term the admissions office uses.

You wouldn't, by any chance, have attended Northwestern for undergrad?

accepted yesterday at around noon CST 🙂

complete 7/14
interviewed 9/13
OOS

Someone last year interviewed 9/21, got accepted 10/21, a week after everyone else, so I don't think we we're put on hold if we weren't accepted yesterday.

They probably have monkeys throwing darts at a board of our pictures, if he hits you, then they let you know

Chimedster - I love your profile picture. I can't believe I didn't notice it before xD I guess worrying about med school acceptances > puppies, unfortunately...
I'm really hoping that we won't have to wait another week, and that they'll have another round sometime this week haha. Does anyone happen to know what day of the week the committee meets?

It is completely and totally dependent on your interviewer. Some (like Dr. Willmore) are notorious for processing interview reports quickly. Others take quite a while to turn in the paperwork (and they have to be free to attend the committee meeting where your file is presented). So, really, your interview day has little bearing on when you hear back. No answer just means no decision has been made yet, and another batch of decisions will go out after the next committee meeting (there's one every week).

The waiting list = alternate list = list that gets pulled from up to when orientation starts next year. It does see decent movement.

Interviews continue up through March (and not just in theory.... large groups of interviewees each week until then).

Congrats to all those accepted, and good luck to all those still waiting to hear!

I was under the impression they meet on Wednesdays, in which case I wonder whether a new batch of acceptances will go out Thursday...

They meet on Wednesday afternoons to discuss a set number of applicants whose interview reports have been completed. So, you may yet hear back this week, but don't stress if you don't. Some take longer than others.

If you want to send a thank you card to your interviewer, where should you send it to?
