I sent mine to the admissions office main address. Just be sure to put Attention: "Your Interviewers Name" at the top of the address and it should get to them.
 
accepted...interviewed on 9/19...liked the school and the kids i interviewed with

Do you know how the process works? People from my day have been accepted already - does that mean I'm an alternate?

You aren't an alternate until they tell you you're an alternate. No news = the committee is waiting for your interviewer's report. This is what makes decision times varied. Once they make a decision, they tell you. They aren't a school that just sits on a decision once they've made it and don't tell you it.
 
Could somebody who recently received an interview invite post when they were complete? Thanks

Technically they do, but it's extremely rare that it happens.

I believe I was marked complete on 7/23 and was invited to interview on 10/13

Based off last year, do you guys know the days decisions generally go out? It seems like monday, but I would like to confirm
 
I wish I knew my position on the list. I'm trying not to spiral into despair, but I really want to go to SLU. I suppose there's still a chance. I had such a positive interview. My interviewer actually said at the end of the interview, "I'm not the only one on the committee, but if it was me..." (then trailed off, but we understood each other). I felt so sure.
 
First acceptance this morning via email! I am unbelievably grateful for the opportunity to become a doctor! Definitely surprised by this because it seemed as though the interview didn't go exceptionally well. Best of luck to all!

I'm sad - still no news for me...

can you guys post the times for your email/. Is it going out in batches or what?
 
Did anyone hear back who was interviewed on 10/10 or later?
Do they only email acceptances and alternates or do they email rejections as soon as a decision is made?

Acceptance! Email came at 11:25am EST, interviewed 9/26.
 
Anyone have an idea of what kind of movement, if any, SLU generally sees PRIOR to May 15?

I'm in a weird position. My wife will have to notify the college where she teaches, if she intends to leave, by February or March. Crap. Crap. Crap.

I'm not weathering this rejection very well, but I'm trying to remain optimistic.

I called right before posting. The very nice person on the phone said she could not give me any information. Policy and all that. 🙁

I tell you, when your stats are right in the middle to slightly above average, you feel like you had a REALLY good interview, and the M4 following your tour group goes on and on about how *great* the acceptance numbers are for this early in the cycle: "I don't think you guys have anything to worry about," it just makes the crash much harder. SLU, SLU, wherefore art thou not accepting me?

I interviewed at a (non-Missouri) state school earlier this week, and let me just say that in all ways I found SLU superior: ethos, history, facilities, technology, people, diversity, location, curriculum, etc. They might let me in. I don't know yet, they might not. But if/when they do it will be bittersweet. I am now ruined for the merely adequate.

I remember at least one person coming off the list before May last year, but I think the vast majority of the movement is after the 15th. I'd call and explain, maybe update letter to the committee. They do actually read everything you send in.
 
Hmmm...while I wait in purgatory, what do you guys think the is most unique aspect of this school?
 
So if we don't hear within 6 weeks of interviewing, is our app "on hold"? Or does everyone who interviews early get accepted or put on alternate list? I haven't seen any post interview rejections posted for the past two years, beside waitlisted apps ultimately not getting in.

Congrats to all! Thought I would address the crime statistics that some of you might have read.

I'm born and bred in St. Louis, and this is my first choice school, so hopefully I'll be joining some of you. The problem with the statistics relating to sex offenders and crime, in general, is that, often they are referring solely to the CITY of St. Louis, and not the entire metropolitan area. The city of StL contains only about 300k people, while the metro area contains about 2.6 million. In addition, the city of St. Louis includes North and East St. Louis, both of which you won't see unless you either get lost or visit a clinic. North St. Louis is in the vicinity of SLU, particularly the undergraduate campus, but it's still a few miles away. East St. Louis is across the river, you have to try to get there. If you take the crime statistics from the entire metro area, St. Louis is not terribly concerning.

All of that said, once or twice per year there might be an incident on the undergraduate campus usually in the vicinity of one of the bars on the periphery. If you aren't by yourself, however, this is NEVER a problem; if you are drunk and by yourself, there is a very, very, very remote chance of something happening. In my time at SLU, there hasn't been any incident involving any student who wasn't drinking and on the undergraduate campus, and, coming from someone on the med school campus, I never was on the undergrad side.

Every time I told someone that I was going to interview at St. Louis, they got a bad look on their face. I'm not sure I understand this. St. Louis has this stigma of being ghetto, but I've visited numerous times and never thought anything of the sort! Sometimes I wonder if it's a "race" thing since most of the places I've lived have been more than predominantly "white". Or it could be the E. St. Louis thing as well...I'm not sure...but until I'd heard others' opinions of St. Louis, I'd never thought it was anything but pleasant...maybe I was just a naive tourist.

Considering President Obama was just here having a private campaign party at one of the mansions down the street from my apt, I am pretty sure St. Louis is not ghetto. The cost of a "plate" at this thing was $35,000. There is a lot of old money down here, and they sort of created their own niche on the west side of the city. I almost always feel safe unless I am wandering in parts of the city that I am not supposed to (i.e. north St. Louis). The place where I live is down the street from both medical schools "SLU and Wash U." It is occupied mostly by students and hospital workers. It is also very affordable.

Additionally, there is this weird earthy-crunchy side of St. Louis that manifests itself on the Delmar Loop. It has its characters, and it is not necessarily completely ghetto free, but it is definitely cool, and a place to explore your inner hippie. I am very happy here, and I am actually from Chicago.

So, I was placed on the alternate list a week ago..
Anyone know if I have a good chance of being accepted off the waiting list?
 
Interviewed 9/27 Accepted 10/21! I too thought my interview was less than stellar, but who knows what their perspective was. I am just happy to finally have my dream realized, especially this early in the season. There isn't much love out there for post bacs, but it can be done 🙂. Good luck to everyone else who got accepted, and for those still waiting, hang in there. Waitlists move, and there is still plenty of interview season left. BTW I was also rejected from MC Wisconsin pre interview that same morning. Every school is different.

Best of luck! I can't wait! It seems like my interviewer is really laid back and a great guy to get along with (Dr. Shoemaker). It's my first interview actually. Earlier today I got news of my second though! It's a great time to future med students! No more essays, just interviews from here on out.
 
Has anyone heard back from the 10/10 crowd or later?

Dr. Shoemaker is really cool. He interviewed me and it was real laid back and other than the structured questions he said he had to ask, it was really conversational and relaxed.
 
Okay, sorry if this is an incredibly dumb question, but how does this intent to register + $100 thing work? Is it just indicating you might go to the school so they should hold your spot, or are you actually saying yes I am going to this school? Say when May 15th rolls around, could you have sent that $100 to five different schools but only actually accept one and then get $400 back? Thanks for your help! 🙂
 
I was hoping if anyone could tell us how the applicants in the alternate list are ranked. by grades? interview? date of app. submission? Which factors play the most significance?

Does anyone know how often the committee meets, and when they send out acceptances each week? Is it usually thursday?
 
Interviewed 9/19, no word. People said committee meets on Wednesdays and it depends on who you interviewed with. If they miss a meeting, your app waits till the next one. My interviewer was a busy doc in a clinic. I just hope I'm not waiting for a rejection letter via snail mail.
 
I too am 9/19 with no word. Meeting was today I believe, so hopefully hearing back tomorrow or friday or monday or tuesday. ;-)
