Does anyone know the length of the interview. I know its one interview that is one-on-one. But im nervous about the timing with my flight that they scheduled my interview for. Its going to be cutting it close to get to airport and on plane.

The interview generally lasts about an hour. What time slot is your interview scheduled for and when's your flight? If necessary, you can always call the admissions office and ask them to fit you in earlier in the day. The sooner you let them know the better.

I just uploaded a document to withdraw, as I will be attending a school closer to home. SLU was fantastic though, and I hope those of you waiting get some love from them soon.

Question: for those of you who uploaded update letters via the online application, did you send an email saying you had done so? Did you get any kind of confirmation?

Do you happen to know the typical turnaround time between committee discussion and decision notification? If this has already been mentioned in this thread, give me a verbal slap in the face and I'll hunt it down myself... tomorrow. I'm just feeling a bit drowsy at the moment.

I think acceptance/waitlist emails go out a day or two after the admissions committee meets.

my interview is at 2:30 and my flight is at 4:45. I already asked for a reschedule and they changed it from 330 to 230 for me. Just making sure Ive got enough time. Sounds like ill be running Home Alone style to my plane lol

Dang, that's cutting it close. I guess if you only have carry-on and hop in a cab ASAP, you'll make it in time.

Any idea if SLU is still giving interviews? Been complete since september and have not heard anything...

Same here. Then again, last time I applied I interviewed there in mid/late March, so I'm still holding out a little hope.

I received my invitation a couple of weeks ago and was complete back in September but had to reschedule due to bad weather (I was driving there), and when I went to reschedule there were dates extending at least 2 weeks from now!

When did you receive the interview, if you remember? I'm hoping my letter of interest had some impact, since I wasn't rejected last week.

Have faith interview twin! I have a feeling that you will get an interview shortly after me like you have at every other school 🙂

From what I remember, it takes like 45 mins to an hour to get to/from the airport. Count on your interview lasting about an hour too, and I don't even know if you can make it. Any way you can move your flight?

Various interviewees from 12/19 to 2/6 are being reviewed at the committee meeting this Wednesday. (Most are from December and early January.)

I interviewed on 12/13 and haven't heard anything yet. Any idea what that could mean? There is also someone in the post right after yours that interviewed on 12/12 and hasn't heard anything either.

Lambert Airport is about 25 minutes from SLU. I don't know if your interview is on a weekday or weekend but thats right in the middle of rush hour too. You will be cutting it extremely close but I think you will be able to make it as long as you leave as soon as your interview is over.

It means that you haven't been reviewed yet. Please read the rest of the thread. This topic has been discussed on just about every page, with the exact same answer given every single time.

The lady who runs the desk in the admissions office seemed to have a really good handle on how long it takes to get there. Keep in mind that St. Louis has a relatively small airport and getting through security went VERY quickly for me.

I got the invite on 2/10/10. So I guess we're one week past that...

Put on alternate list today. Interviewed on 12/13. Bummer.

Should I rent a car or is there any other transportation options (i.e. medical students or shuttles) to get back to airport quickly?

Shuttle will get you from the airport to any hotel and back for about $40-45 round trip. You just tell them where to drop you off, and when and where to pick you up. Probably the easiest option.

Are you staying with a student host? Mine drove me to Union Station and I caught a train to the airport from there. It cost about $2 and didn't take long.

Im staying with a student host. Havent had correspondence with them yet.

I am almost at the point that I want a pre-interview rejection (ALMOST)... I keep knowing people who get them, but they're just toying me along now. No rejection, no interview invite, no contact. I'd rather know than not know!

Does anyone know when SLU has their second look?

We don't have a second look, but if you're interested in taking a second look, just contact the admissions office and they will set you up with a student.

I took a bus to union station. It picked up in front of the medical school and took about 5 minutes. Then I took the metro to the airport, which was about another 20. If you look in google maps for transit directions, it will tell you which buses and estimated times. It was really easy and I didn't have any problems. I also didn't feel unsafe at all (and I am a white female) in case you are worried about that!

Don't lose hope!! It's a good thing that they're still looking at your files. Give them some time and good luck!

I'm in the same boat - still no word since the secondary. Could be that the school doesn't send out rejections until the very end like Emory, and for all we know we could have been rejected long ago... 😕

I called admissions and they actively reject. They don't sit on files like some other schools do even if you're rejected

There's been a few pre-interview rejection waves recently as well.

Are they still sending out interview invites? Has anyone gotten one recently? Curious why they aren't rejecting everyone, but it seems late in the game to still be giving out interviews when they only interview into March?

I'm in the same boat, my application has been complete since October.

Would really love a shot at this school, my dad went here and it would mean a lot to my family to even get an interview invite.

Any word on when the committee will be reviewing interviewed applicants next? The suspense is killing me.

I just interviewed today. they said it would take 3-4 weeks til we hear back.

I was told 4-6 weeks by my interviewer when I was there last week.
As was I when I interviewed on 2/7 (2 weeks ago). Assuming the adcom meets a couple times/month (4-6 weeks) - (2 weeks) = 3-4ish weeks.

When you say, is there info about today being the day...what forum are you referring to? Do they have a website or something where they post information!? I would love to know because this waiting everyday is killing me!

Does that same committee review those who haven't been extended interviews yet?

No. At least not on Wednesdays during their review of interviewees. I am not sure who decides which applicants to interview.

To all those who've interviewed and may be reviewed today, im feeling some good vibes
