Hey all. I'm a MS-4 here at SLU. Wanted to put a quick plug in for the school. I'm very happy that I ended up here. I chose SLU over several other medical schools in the midwest, and I haven't been disappointed. The administration really cares about student well being, and the medical training is top notch. We're systems based here, with one test every 3-4 weeks during the modules and only one class at a time. We typically do very well on boards. I have several classmates who scored in the 260's on Step I and 270's on Step II, and we traditionally match students into very competitive programs in most every specialties--MGH, Duke, Hopkins, Penn, etc. The clinical experience 3rd year is really solid as well. We're a big trauma center and SLU serves as the de facto city hospital for St. Louis, so we see a lot of the indigent with multiple, poorly managed comorbidities. We also rotate out at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis county, another level 1 trauma center with a huge critical care presence. Theres a ton of flexibility in the 3rd and 4th year to make time for electives, and every specialty is really very well-represented. If you all have any questions, PM me. And congrats to all of you who have been accepted!
