i never know what's more ideal, the window or the aisle seat...

and dang they're dropping the axe on a lot of people this week!! 🙁
 
just got the email 🙁 i've had a rejection every day this week... october is pretty scary so far :scared:
 
It's strange because they don't seem to be going in any sort of order with these rejections. A few people who were complete in mid-September were rejected yesterday.

it's been a rough past three days, lots of rejections. Nothing for me yet but I'll make sure to edit this post when I get rejected later today or tomorrow :scared:

I wish everyone would stop with the negativity! We are all competitive applicants, give yourselves a pat on the back for even being able to realistically apply to this school!

I sure wasn't being realistic. Big reach for me, so I'm just glad the ax hasn't fallen yet. Here's hoping tomorrow's a better day for this thread. :xf:

The last interview invite was 9/27, so I wouldn't be surprised if we had a few more days of rejections before invites started going out again.

You're probably right. I feel like there's a monster in the woods, and so far I ran faster than everyone else, but it's just a matter of time before I stumble over a twig and it catches me. :scared:

There doesn't seem to be any pattern. I was complete ~August 5th and I'm just as nervous as you are.
 
Rejected today.was a reach school.
complete late august
low Gpa, decent MCAT, was hoping my graduate degree/upward trend in grades would counter the poor gpa, guess not.

rejected today, just now. complete mid-august. very painful.
 
I wonder what order they are emailing these. Email address alphabetically? First name? Last name? AAMC#? Random?
 
Rejected today complete late august oh well school was a huge reach for me anyway 🙁
 
II today!!!!! Surreal! I put in the four slots that I was available, I hope to hear from them soon. I keep thinking that these schools will call me back and say "oops, we made a mistake. We meant to invite the smart urm to our school"...

The rejections stopped? I guess I survived...for now
 
My stats are nothing special whatsoever.... I feel that what has truly helped me get this far are the incredible letters of recommendations from those who know me and know what I have gone through, and my story of how I got to be where I am today. Honestly, if I told you my stats you would laugh at me.

Anyways, I was complete 09/12. Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you guys there as well.
 
Woohoo! II! Got it in the middle of my religion midterm.

Complete 7/13. Absolutely thrilled.

Anyone who has been to interview, want to shed some light on the day? What were the interviews like?
 
II invite! Psyched to visit NYC again and check out Weill. Complete in late July

I didn't have trouble connecting with my host here, but I did at another school. Definitely be proactive - I think if you get in touch with Woldine, she'll probably be able to help you.
 
The interviews were generally very chill, both of my interviewers asked me about stuff in my application and while some of their questions were a bit challenging the environment never felt stressful. They really try to sell WCMC to you.You will have 2 ~30 minute long interviews (either in the morning or the afternoon).
 
I have an interview here in two weeks. Are there any current Cornell students out there who could recount their interview experience? I would also love to hear about the curriculum.

I just finished writing the impression I got at the interview day (it's on my mdapps). I'm not sure how useful it'll be but I wrote a little bit about how they described the curriculum to us.

I stayed with a student host. Get in touch with admissions, and they should be able to find one for you. Woldine is not the person to talk to for this--I emailed her and never got a response. Write to [email protected] instead. When I emailed them, they replied saying they'd try to find me a host, but recommended that I make alternate arrangements just in case (which is kind of annoying. Who is in a hurry to book a hotel in NYC and then probably not end up staying there?) And they ended up getting back to me the day before I arrived in NYC, saying they had found a host for me.
 
been so silent from cornell for two months now...the wait is the most unbearable part....
 
Does anyone know how receptive Cornell is to "in the area" email? I am interviewing at another NY school in December, and I am flying all the way from California, so it would be really great if I can interview at more than just one school (if possible) in one trip.

I submitted my Cornell secondary on 8/29, but retook the MCAT in mid-august. Received my second MCAT score mid-Sept, so I would assume my application wasn't complete until sometime after mid-Sept. If anything, they will probably get to my application in the next few weeks (anyone completed mid-sept/late-sept got interview invites yet?)

But what do you guys think? Should I let them know I will be there in December? Or should I just wait and see how things go the next few weeks? I think my stats are fairly decent with a 34Q and 3.75/3.81.

Any advice and feedback will be greatly appreciated!
