Do you know when they give out merit scholarships?

I interviewed first week of March. Unless they're waiting to discuss all the applicants before the final wave, they HAVE to have made a decision on my app by now xD. Haven't seen any March decisions on SDN

Interviewed first week of March and they told us that our names wouldn't even be on the agenda for three weeks. So that would have been either the 17th or today depending on whether they meant three full weeks or three Thursdays out.

If they're supposedly only now getting to us, I don't see how they're going to discuss the remaining March interviewees in one more meeting. Ah the great mystery of adcoms!

Anyone who interviewed last week of February hear back yet?

Interviewed Mid-September and haven't heard anything back. I've sent a few updates and additional letters of rec. I'm wondering if I should send a letter of intent, even though I know people usually only send them when they're on the waitlist. Anyone have an opinion about whether it would be a good or bad thing to send without having had any kind of hint as to where I stand? Dartmouth is my first choice so I want to do everything possible to get that acceptance!

I'd probably wait. I suspect Dartmouth doesn't really accept off the middle batch/ potential waitlist until after the April 7 meeting (last adcom meeting)

Question about additional LORs:

Are they accepted?

How does one submit?

I've been trying to call admissions about it, but i seem to always get a machine. Haven't been able to get a call back. Help?

I sent additional LOR and I had my letter writers send them directly to the admissions email with my name and birthdate

So are we expecting not to hear back now until after next Thursday (April 7th)?

So I emailed them asking if there was a definite date everyone would hear back by, and I was told there is no definite date as of now. I've seen a couple of people on this thread saying 4/12 is when we will hear back. Does anyone know if that's true/where that info is from, because the admissions office was not forthcoming with that info

How did you get them to pick up the phone?

On interview day 3/15, we were told that we are unlikely to get reviewed in adcom meeting 3/24, and that adcom meeting 3/31 is cancelled with 4/7 being the next and last one. We were told, that set of decisions would be coming out 4/12, but that everyone would have *a* decision by 4/15 (or 4/12).

That's what I'm saying though... How in the world were they planning on discussing those who interviewed after you?

Anyone have a theory about why they are releasing their decisions so late?

They might be really pouring over everything... They may also have a small staff... They may want only the dedicated... Or they just shifted their timeline down a bit to allow non trads with heavy scheduled some flexibility

Wonder how many students they lose by waiting this long. People already going to second looks and getting set on somewhere else

I looked up some stats just now. I don't have the numbers handy but they seems to interview a proportionally large number of people relative to their program size.

Ya it really seems like a waste of resources. They should be a little more selective in their pre-interview screening

They end up accepting a third of the interviewees. Pretty standard

On a more serious note, I doubt I'd even be able to afford the cross country flight if I only had a week to buy my ticket. This doesn't sound very well thought out.

yea... my interview was pretty short notice too. even though i love it here, their way of dealing with things is subpar
