Been a silent lurker through this cycle, but finally made an account! First II here today! Is there any strategy to picking Interview dates? Like, is it some widely known strategy to not pick the first date, or to do morning slots instead of afternoon, etc. Thanks guys!!

I forget if RF is rolling admissions, but if they are, you want to pick a date that is as early as possible. As for time, I think if you perform better in the morning, you should choose a morning slot; otherwise it's not a big deal.

I called the admissions office today and she told me they have rolling admissions. I picked a morning spot because I'm a morning person. I doubt the time of day matters... which ever time you feel best at I guess

Does anyone understand what this school's curriculum actually looks like? I've tried to search their webpage, but it seems like the curriculum is still in the works...

Same here. Submitted 7/28 and got a "thanks for the secondary, wait for a complete email," but no complete email. I'm guessing they're sifting through tons of apps right now, as my scores and LOR's have been received at most of the other schools I applied to.
I received the email saying that my secondary was received 7/16 and I received the "complete and under review" email 7/28 if that helps. But no II yet for me. Hopefully soon for all of us waiting!

Ok so I know this is a super trivial thing, but they just sent the interview schedule, and it says we eat after the interview is over. That's such an awkward time for a meal. 4:30? Guess I'll have to stop at Portillo's or something on the way to my interview!

So I received confirmation of my payment but they never acknowledged receipt of the actual secondary application. In the email inviting me to complete the secondary they said I would receive an automated email with a copy of my application, but I still have not received that. Anyone else in a similar position?
I got the invitation e-mail, the payment email, and another email that said "We have received your Chicago Medical School Supplemental Application. We will be processing your supplemental application and you can expect another email from us when your application is complete and sent into screening."

but nothing about it being complete yet - and this was almost 2 weeks ago.

I turned everything in on July 23 and did not get the complete email from them until August 4.

Is it true that Rosalind Frnaklin's accreditation is in jeopardy?

No. As of June, CMS is in full compliance and the LCME has removed us from probationary status. We never lost accreditation in the past, and still strive to improve in the future.

Thank you! Excited to submit this secondary!

Does anyone know if/why their accreditation was in jeopardy? Was it over a technicality? Or a major problem with the curriculum?

How long did it take for you all to get a complete email after the "thank you for submitting your secondary" email??

Wondering if I should call.. it's been close to two weeks, and I haven't heard anything

I submitted my application 7/10 and received the confirmation email on 7/17. This was at the beginning of the application cycle when it was a little quieter so I imagine now at the height of app season, the admissions office is busy. You could always call too.

I submitted my secondary 7/23 and got a complete email on 8/6.

Submitted 7/27 and got the complete email on 8/7. Maybe give it a few more days.

I submitted 7/31 I haven't heard anything. I am calling tomorrow.

I submitted on 7/26. My letter did not get uploaded to AMCAS until 8/11. I received the complete email on 8/13.

Thank you!!
Just for anyone wondering, it looks like they interview on Fridays and Mondays. Every Friday in September is still available with both Mondays and Fridays available in October as well!

You were complete 7/16 and just got the II??

It seems to me that their process might be a little slow, right?
Haha I'm not sure. I think from last year's thread they didn't start extending invites until around the 20th, so I wasn't expecting to hear anything for at least another 1-2 weeks. I'm trilled with the outcome, though!

Does anyone know the least expensive way to get to the school from O'Hare? Taxi seems the most convenient, but probably the most expensive too. But then taking the Metra train is a whole another issue because you have to jump through hoops to get to the closest station, which is pretty far from the airport.

On public transit, I believe the best way would be to take the blue line CTA and then transfer to the Metra, though that will take 2 or 3 hours if I'm not wrong. Taxi is easiest but it'll be expensive, the school is pretty far north. If you can rent a car, that may be your best bet.

Rent a car. It's like $60 a day. If you don't drive then uber. It's cheaper and better

I'm going to take the taxi company that is recommended on the Rosalind Franklin website. It should be $43 from O'hare to Rosalind Franklin

Factor that in both ways and it would be cheaper to just rent a car. Not to mention way more convenient...

Uber is way better than getting a taxi. Renting a car isn't a bad option either.

From my experience it is significantly less. I think you can check the website if you want an estimate.

Just got a secondary email... and was curious whether the medical professional LOR is make it or break it for an application? I probably won't be able to get one until a month from now unfortunately. 🙁

Anybody know? Thanks!

They told me that it is absolutely necessary :/

If a PI is an MD, does that count?

That's what I used, I don't see why it wouldn't.

"at least one recommendation to come from a medical professional (not necessarily an MD) with whom you have worked."

^^is this required regardless of a committee letter?

Just got the complete email! 8/19
Submitted the supplemental and fee on 7/30
