2015-2016 Washington University in St. Louis Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Still not working. Thanks for the tip though. I really don't understand what is going on. It sounds like the problem occurred before, but I'm the only one having a problem this year?

I had the same problem. I had to clear my cache and it worked. Which didn't make sense because that should have meant that incognito would have done the trick... I also got it to work using a different browser.

Still not marked as complete - says letters arent in submitted 7/8 -_-

+1 on that as well...hmm, wondering if I should call the office. This was one of the earliest secondaries I submitted too :/ 7/7

I believe @phuynh94 called earlier this week and the lady said to check again in a week or so... It seems that they're sorting Wash U alums' apps first since some people have already been marked complete and they had submitted later this month :I

Ohh right, I remember reading that ahaha. Losing track of all these forums I'm keeping watch on @___@
Also I saw you're also a Cal alum! :O go bears~

Aha don't worry, I've been losing count of all my tracked threads too, especially since I've also been tracking schools that I plan on getting a secondary but haven't yet...
Ooh did you graduate from Cal as well? Go Bears! ^____^ It's a shame they don't have a med school; I love Cal so much <3

Oh wow congrats on graduating! You graduated the same year as my sister ^^ (I graduated in 2014). I actually never got to try La Note--they were always so busy when I tried to go :I Now I'm back in Chicago and I really miss the whole campus vibe and food...and BOBA omg ;__;

Hey guys, so it is normal for Wash U to take a long time to mark LORs and MCAT Scores as received?

Yes--if you look a few posts up/previous page, some of us submitted the first week and still haven't been marked complete for LORs...

ah okay thank you. Sorry. God bless!
No worries! It can be a bit overwhelming to fish through threads to find what you're looking for. Someone did call the admissions already earlier this week and the lady said to check in a week or so. It seems that if you are not a Wash U alum, chances are that you're still not marked complete even if you submitted early this month >__<

Alright, thank you! Thats kinda surprising since Wash U is actually one of the fastest acceptances among top 10 schools. Last year their first acceptance was given out on Nov. 1st!

Well, I'm tossin my hat in the ring with a LizzyM of 78. My mcat is right on their median:uhno: but maybe I'll get some love with a little bit of luck.

My letters FINALLY got downloaded (22 days later) and I have a checkmark for everything except for the Dean's Cert but my file is still marked as incomplete??? Is there just a delay between getting things checked and the status change? I remember people mentioning that their apps were considered complete even without the Dean's Cert...

I do not have the Dean's cert in and I am complete. I don't intend to turn it in unless I get an II. I think it might just take a little longer for yours to turn over to complete, although I know it is hard to just sit and wait 😕

Ah thanks for letting me know! I figured I should be marked complete in a few days but I just wanted to check that there weren't any hidden documents not listed on the checklist that I may have been missing ^__^

I know waiting can be difficult, but try to remain patient. We generally send out interview invites later than other schools, so you still have a couple weeks until invites go out. Check out the previous years' threads if you are interested in the general timeline. If you aren't marked complete yet, just wait it out; there are a lot of others in the same situation, and it's fine.

p.s. I doubt being a WashU undergrad has any effect on being marked complete before anyone else

Haha thank you! Good to know...was getting impatient over here because I submitted on 7/9 and am still marked incomplete (the premedical committee packet isn't checked off but my school doesn't have one and I indicated in the application that I'll be sending a separate packet)

APPLICATION COMPLETE!!!! I shouldn't be this excited about it... But wooo! I submitted on 7/7ish or so

I don't know what to believe anymore :| now my app status shows that nothing is in and my app is incomplete. Wash U what are you even doing to our neurotic hearts?

For some reason my MCAT scores and letters of recommendation are not listed as "received" on the application status page, but I sent the letters nearly a month ago, and my MCAT scores were released on July 21st. Should I be worried, or did this happen to others? Is it possible I missed a step in sending the letters?

Nope, the long wait is perfectly normal. It took me a month for my application to be marked complete, and it seems like a lot of people are in the same boat as you and are still waiting for the status change. As long as your MCAT scores and letters are verified on AMCAS, you've done all that you can on your end so just sit tight! 🙂

Okay, phew! Thanks.

everything has a check except for the dean certification. says im incomplete still tho....who told you guys that dean certification is not necessary for II?

If you have all the checkmarks except for dean's cert, you're complete, it just takes a few days for the status to switch to 'complete' (this happened to me so just give it a few days).

Can we send more LORs beyond the 4 letters that we designate in the secondary? The MSAR said 3-6, but I don't see anything else mentioned concretely throughout the WashU FAQ, instructions, etc.

braaaaaah letters of rec still not in. going crazy with anticipation.
I almost feel like I missed something I was supposed to do!

Same...submitted 7/9 and still missing my letter service packet :/

FYI, lurking last year's thread revealed first II's on September 10th!

Still not complete...c'monnnnnnnnnnnn WashU

Any MSTP applicants receive an email to pick 3 keywords to describe your research interests?

Did you guys try emailing them? Now that I recall, I emailed them a while back and in the 2 day span that they took to respond, my application was marked as complete. It might have been a coincidence though, not totally sure.
Emailed them a week ago but nothing

Edit: just gave them a call and the woman took my AMCAS ID number and said she will call/email me back

For MSTP applicants who got questions about keywords, is your application already marked complete?

I emailed and called them a while ago. They told me to just wait. Evidently, patience isn't my forte.
