does anyone have a clear idea on this whole "acceptance by region" thing? if your geographic region has a smaller applicant pool are you likely to hear back faster?
It seems like they tend to call on Thursdays?do you guys think any more calls are coming out today?

But I'm feeling a little down about not getting a call either. For some reason, I had a really good feeling about it this week. But good luck to all still waiting!
Forgive me if this was brought up earlier in the thread, but did anyone else get two faculty interviews AND an MS4? Or is the first faculty member host at 9:15 am doing a presentation for all the interviewees? I'm crossing my fingers I don't have three interviews...
Wow congrats. Mind sharing when you interviewed?Got accepted today via call! So happy!! Does anyone know when merit-based scholarships will be announced?
I guess I'm unlikely to hear until end of Feb 🙁If this helps, I interviewed in early January and was told that the MD adcom is meeting on the 28th (they only meet once a month). They might not get to everyone and the next date after that is Feb 25. Not sure how soon after the meetings they send out letters. Good luck everyone, I'm hoping to hear back soon as well!
Interviewed mid-november 🙂Wow congrats. Mind sharing when you interviewed?

I interviewed in October and haven't heard back
California!Since this is region-based, which region/state are u from?
And congrats!!!!
I also interviewed in early November and haven't heard anything. But to be honest, I don't think I have a good chance here.
Anyway, I'm still really confused about this regional acceptance idea. Can those of you who heard about it please explain it?
This regional bias thing seems to be something that only came up on one person's interview day. It certainly didn't come up on mine and people who were accepted around the same time I was were not from the same part of the country. I'm not trying to be rude or undermine what that person heard, but I wonder if there was a misunderstanding on their part. I certainly don't know how it was worded to them, but I can imagine several unclear statements about where a student is from in terms of when they interviewed that could account for their thinking it had to do with geography.
For what it's worth, my dean's wrap-up talked about the decision process as being related to who your interviewer was and when they had the chance to discuss you at the meeting. So, my interpretation was that a lot of the acceptance movement had to do with when your file was discussed at the committee.
Wow that's interesting. I'm actually fascinated by how these admissions processes work. Was your sense that committees review applications for interviews, or post-interview decisions?I actually remember it being mentioned that the admissions decisions were split into regional groups and there being different committees for the different regions. Also, this is from a bio of someone on the admissions team which specifically states there being committees for different regions. How the timing of these committees making decisions lines up with other regions, I am not sure.
I was under the impression that they handle both II and final decisions, but at this point it seems like it's anyone's guess and I could easily be wrong haha. Although, just based off that bio snippet I posted, it sounds like the subcommittees only do primary apps.Wow that's interesting. I'm actually fascinated by how these admissions processes work. +1!!!!!!!!!! Interviewed mid-December, shocked to hear back so quickly! Anyone got a link for the FB group?Got accepted today via call! So happy!! Does anyone know when merit-based scholarships will be announced?

Few days ago 🙂Congrats! Did you get the acceptance call today?
Cool! May I ask how long after you got the link? You'll be emailed inviting you to the FB group!
I want to say about 2ish weeks. It looks like students are added in batches to the page.Cool! May I ask how long after you got the link?
I felt similarly, but ended up accepted! Don't sell yourself short, clearly the adcom saw something in your app they liked!Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted or received a II recently! I honestly stay up at night thinking about how much I want to go to this school. When I designated this school on AMCAS, in my head I was like, "LOL who do you think you are? Please, don't embarrass yourself." My application does not stand out at all and I wasn't even complete until December. I have no idea what the adcom saw in me that they even invited me for an interview. I still think it was a mistake and I somehow slipped through the cracks. The fact that I might have taken a more qualified applicant's interview spot actually makes me feel a little guilty.
I am doing interview reviews of schools I interviewed at.
For WashU: Nice people, nice interviewers, great food for interviewees, great research. Iffy about Saint Louis, but great program nonetheless.
Keeping things brief.
Grade: A

Did you follow up with them letting them know you sent it?

I have felt really similar! It's a bad feeling, and you're probably selling yourself short. Seriously, if you haven't already, look up imposter syndrome and read about it. You deserved your II.
God bless you and all of the other kind and supportive folks on this thread.Hey guys, anyone know how I can withdraw my application? Going to pass up on my II, hope it goes to one of you
