Also accepted by portal! Was rejected from SCP a couple weeks ago

If you don’t mind me asking, which SCP was it, and how did you find out you were rejected from it? I interviewed rural Med 10/3 and still haven’t heard anything

My portal updated today with an acceptance. For those of you who would like to know for reference. I was rejected by SB SCP in December and placed into the regular MD pool. OOS, 508Mcat. I am so humbled and excited. I wish all of you well that are still waiting on an acceptance or interview.

Hi everyone, I have a quick question for the portal for accepted students. After turning in the paper acceptance by mail, by what date does the "offer response" need to be completed online in the portal? I am wondering if we have time to complete this because you have to make a big decision about ranking campuses. Thanks so much! And good luck to everyone on this thread!

I'm sure this resonates with a lot of people: after months of waiting and thinking that perhaps i'm not a match for IU I've been accepted. I'm OOS and URM but have ties to the state of Indiana since my undergrad was there. I'm in shock considering the number of interviews they do each interview day. Nonetheless, I'm super excited. I was notified via email about campus selection so I went on the portal and the information was provided to me. A relative informed me that I received some material in the mail dated Jan. 15th.

OMG. I. JUST. CAN'T.

Just got accepted and I'm not sure how I should rank campuses. I know my top 2 and my bottom 2 but im curious how to rank everybody else. anyone have good insight?

Congrats!!! I can relate to this as an OOS URM. I’m a re applicant and just recently interviewed. I hope this is the year it happens for me as well.

Do you mind sharing how to go about setting up the portal to track it? Thanks for looking out!

What do you mean setting up the portal to track what?

Sorry for the confusion. I should have been more specific. I am referencing the one.iu portal where you make an account as a student and can track your progress through the student center. We had this option last year and thought you were referring to this not the secondary/interview portal.

I haven't set up the one.iu portal. I received an email about campus ranking then checked the secondary app portal and there was a tab that showed up saying I've been accepted with some extra information. I'm not sure about the one.iu portal system since I've been never been a student of IU and wasn't going to bother with it considering that adcom notifies you via mail and portal addition on secondary app.

Dumb question, but how long do you have until you need to submit campus priorities?

what do you think this means for those of us who were waitlisted for scp??
so far, I don't remember seeing anyone who was waitlisted for scp getting accepted RD yet. Could be selection bias on who is posting, but could also be that they aren't reviewing our (the waitlisted people's) applications yet because maybe they think we still have a fair chance to get off the scp waitlist? But this is all a guess, I have nothing to actually back this up

I was waitlisted for SCP Evansville in Dec and accepted RD on Monday.

Does anyone know how to sign the technical standards form? When you go to the portal, it just takes you to the actual technical standards page, but not a signing page. Also, how do we obtain the academic disclosure paper we're supposed to sign as it's not in the portal either. Thanks!

It sounds like you are looking at "Technical standards" under the "Admission Decisions" tab. There is another page named "technical standards" that is under the "Pre-Matriculation" tab. The one under Pre-Matriculation has the actual electronic form you need to submit.

Is anyone else that has been accepted having trouble creating their exchange email and duo token for orientation? I can't seem to make a one.iu account without a university ID and have never been given a login

I received an email with my university ID a few weeks after being accepted. The email came from an IUPUI address. Setting this up is so confusing and I'm still not sure I've done it right lol

Has anyone received merit based aid, scholarships etc.? I thought that all the merit based/recruitment stuff was supposed to go out in January but I haven't seen anyone on here saying that they got it yet.

Also wondering what the timeline for need based aid is, since I filed my FAFSA quite a while ago at this point and I don't know what else they might need to wait on.

So I figured out how to make a one.IU account as an OOS applicant to keep an eye on my status. Currently it's saying "

Your application is missing materials. Check here for updates. Once complete, your application will be reviewed and a decision made.

I've already received the email stating my file was complete and ready to go in front of the committee about a week ago. Is this normal? or should I call them about this.

If anybody is still having trouble setting up an Exchange email, if you search "View Accounts" on one.iu.edu and in that click "Create Computing Account," you should get the option to request an email address.

Does anyone know if Indiana is receptive to letters of interest?
+2/bump

Wondering this as well.
When I applied to IUSM two years ago I sent a letter of interest/intent by email in February. I was accepted in March. I really don't know if it contributed at all to my acceptance, but it seems like it didn't hurt. I don't have that specific email anymore so I can't remember who I sent it to, sorry!

Does anyone have the link to the 2024 accepted FB page? I saw in an email that the link has been sent to us already, but I can't find it. Feel free to message me privately

@setonpsych @LegsPainted

You can find the link in your admissions portal, just go to the "financial aid" section under the "Pre-matriculation" tab. The link to the Facebook group is right near the top of the page, after the first paragraph.

I think the only reason it is lumped under "financial aid" is cause the page is run by the head of the med school financial aid dept.

Can anyone who went to the interview reach out to me and let me know what some of their current students had to say? I had an unorthodox interview (incredibly grateful to have been able to go) but could not speak with current students to pick their brains. What did they have to say? Please dm me if that's easier for you! Thanks in advance. This group has been really great and I appreciate it.

When I interviewed at one of the regional campuses, the students (1st and 2nd years) spoke about the small class size and how they got to know one another really well. They mentioned that lectures were recorded and they could watch any campus's lectures (apparently, some lecturers on some campuses are preferred for certain classes). One 2nd year was moving to Indy for his clinical years.

That's all I remember. Hope that helps.
