I wasn't able to make a one.IU portal so I called admissions to ask about it and they said that they are having problems with inaccuracies on them so they are advising all students against making one. He also said that IUSM isn't connected to the one.IU portals at all and to just wait for it on the applicant portal or for the letter in the mail... just so everyone knows 🙁
And they update the 20th?

@BirdietheCockatiel neuroses intensifies

Interviewed a while ago so been at this a long time. I was able to make a One.IU account today but I’m 99% sure I tried getting the student ID a month or two ago (it asks for last 4 SSN) and it didn’t work. Not sure why I’m able to now especially because I do not have an accepted status lol

LOL it's like you know me. Honestly I'm pretty scared. This is my top choice and I almost cried when I saw that. I've seen past posts in the IU forums with people reporting this status, and now the admissions office is saying otherwise. Nothing really is making sense to me right now.

And they update the 20th?
They update the 15th of every month and if it lands on a weekend, the week after.

So next month we should expect another round of decisions anywhere from the 18th to the 20th since 3/15 is on Sunday.

you in about 45 minutes calling the office for your decision

I interviewed 9/4 and have been waiting each month since then. Each month I get my hopes up and get let down each month. I’m IS and can’t get into his own state school. Let me tell you, this has been the most agonizing 5-6 months of my life hands down.

I'd try talking to the admissions office. They were all really receptive and helpful. The schools pretty unique in that they are open to providing feedback (stated on their website and reiterated to us on our interview day). Try reaching out and speaking to them.

Similar for me - I'm OOS but interviewed 9/11, and every month like clockwork I get my hopes up for the 15th only to hear nothing again :/

Has anyone had that student portal update by mistake? I'm just a little scared cause I've seen other schools accepting people by mistake lol I also have an interview in 2 days (flying tomorrow morning) that I would cancel, so someone else can take it. Anyone have an opinion? Much appreciated.
I would hold off on canceling that interview. I doubt that your acceptance was a mistake (try not to get too worried about that, which yes I realize that is like telling a fire to stop burning). However, JUST in case, don't throw another opportunity away!

I appreciate the advice. Definitely got some thinking to do, but I definitely agree. Also, a thought just came up. So when they mentioned to you about inconsistencies, I wonder if they were indirectly talking about the fact that the portal often says it's missing materials, when it actually isn't. For example, my student portal said materials were missing until today, even though my app portal/email said everything has been received. Food for thought? might explain what we've seen in past posts.

I agree, don’t cancel plans. I completely understand the waiting game is torturous. I interviewed sometime end of Sept. and I didn’t hear back until January 21st via email regarding campus selection. Logged into the portal and saw my tab change to acceptance. That same day a relative told me I revived a packet from IU with my letter dated Jan. 15th. Clearly being OOS from CA the letter would have taken more time.

As previously discussed, the letter gets sent out first then portal change days later. It’s best to be patient for another few days. Perhaps Friday if not Monday to see that portal change.

Appreciate the detailed timeline!

Birdie, call. Dont mess with this stuff. Get verbal confirmation straight from the admissions office and ask for second confirmation via email if theyre not too busy.

I called them twice and they told me to wait for the second portal to update/ official letter in the mail :/

Did you mention the portion about having to pay to go to a second interview? Any way to delay the 2nd one for the time being. My wallet weeps for you.

i sure did lol and they told me they can't give me any information, that I have to just wait. And no, there is no way to delay the second one

Just an opinion question I guess, but realistically we only have this month and next month to hear positive news right?

You are entirely correct I think. In an email the financial aid office said "We anticipate sending out information about financial aid expectations in late March, soon after the last group of students are accepted." I assume that means that March 15th is the last batch of acceptances.

Well, just to be clear, obviously people who have been wait-listed could still be accepted well after March 15th. I assume most of the WL movement happens in April.

Portal didn't update for me so hoping I hear back next month (interviewed early January).

So is it cool to make the student portal or do we wait for instructions to do so either by email/snail mail?
