2019-2020 Jefferson (Kimmel)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone who has already interviewed have soem insight on the interview day and how best to prepare?
Super laid back! It’s student run so they really give you an idea of life there and you get to meet a lot of different faculty and students which was really nice! The interview itself is open file and a mix of traditional interview / conversation!!! You’ll love it!

Anyone interview mid-September remember them saying the 15th? I'm sure they said that but someone else on here said 16th.

Anyone from the 10/2 interview date heard anything?

Nope, telling myself it’s too early.

Not to say I wouldn’t really love this phone call right now, but it has only been two weeks.

Anybody from the 9/25 interview date heard anything? So far it looks like they gave calls to the previous dates

They did say 1 - 6 weeks though, but perhaps she has to get through all of the 9/18 and 9/25 folks first. Really crossing my fingers I get accepted.

high priority waitlist 🙁 hoping there's movement. It says we can update but how do we update just by email?

When did you interview? Not sure if anyone from early october has heard yet!! So anxious
I interviewed in September (don't want to get more specific than that) -- I think I heard for most dates it's a 1-3 week turnaround depending on when your interviewer makes it to committee meetings

Also got on the High priority wait list. Is this just what they call their wait list? Seeing two other people on here also get put on the HPWL makes me think it’s just a way for them to soften the blow. Is there a normal waitlist too or are they just being nice?

No there's definitely a high priority and lower priority -- have known many people who got in off the waitlist, so be sure to keep sending updates!!

Anyone else not hear anything? Seems like I'm in limbo for another week, interviewed 9/25
Interviewed 10/2 and haven't heard anything. I know it's less time than you but it doesn't seem like there is consistency in who has and hasn't heard back yet. I really think it depends on your interviewer. I also don't know how often they will be calling/emailing.

interviewed here today and wow did i love it.

Student interview was so so chill. Like it was actually just a conversation. They're not given a rubric or anything, just making sure you're not an anti-social freak.

Likewise faculty interview was also conversational. My interviewer knew my application pretty well but we literally didn't talk about it at all. You're allotted one hour on the schedule but most don't take that long.

Students seemed SUPER HAPPY.
Food was probably the best on the trail.

best of luck everyone!!!!!!!!

Decisions are usually within the realm of 1-6 weeks turnaround. It depends on when your faculty interviewer is able to make the committee meetings, which are held on Wednesdays. Keep in mind that virtually all the interviewers are active clinicians/faculty who cannot always make it the first few weeks. A prolonged decision period following your interview has no bearing on your acceptance chances.
