Got hit with pre-II R yesterday as well, very surprised as my stats were above average and mission fit was good although I'm not SDA. I think I'll try to contact and asked them what went wrong. Thought I had a good chance here.

Wow that's harsh. Sorry that happened! With your stats though you'll definitely get in somewhere
 
I'm flying in next week from out of state for an interview. Any ideas on where to stay?
 
Any non-SDA Christians still hopeful for an interview? And when did you receive your "Application in Review" email?

Thank you! In the email it says you have to call in order to set up your interview, you give them available dates and they give you one based on your availability.
 
So, I called Loma Linda about acceptances, and they told me that they switched up the system this time around so that it’s no longer on the second/third Thursdays of the month. Rather, we should just be ready to hear from them any day of the month at anytime. Not sure if they’re lying, but I haven’t heard or seen any acceptances from them so far today...

This was pretty solid advice. $75 for the room, free breaky, and a short walk to campus. Plus, they let me leave my car there and change in their big lobby bathroom after the interview. I'm always so embarrassed dragging my suitcase back into the school lobby so I can change into jeans and a hoodie.
 
Just got a handwritten thank you note from an interviewer. Is this place for real? I'm thankful that in such a dehumanizing process as applying to medical school, someone is finding ways to inject a little humanity.

Did anyone else get a note or did I just luck out with my interviewer?

Also, I wouldn't start worrying about acceptances or fretting over whether you're interviewing too late in the game. I heard it from a good source that they haven't made the bulk of their offers yet.

Has anyone who interviewed on 12/5 heard back regarding their decision?
 
Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!! Does anyone mind sharing stats so I know if I still have a fighting chance?
 
Hey all, I am a graduating student at Loma Linda dental school and just matched into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency here at Loma Linda. Which includes me (and two others) going back to Medical school for a couple years to get an MD.

They usually have us join the second year medical students but it sounds like the curriculum is changing and we might be starting sometime with your class in the fall. Let me know if there is some Facebook group or something you all make. Congrats on those accepted!
