how are they processing this? submitted mid august...LM is 75...so scared for the R...but a man can hope
i dont know but i submitted at the end of july and still haven't heard anything either. my stomach is in knots

I'm being cautiously pessimistic (with a tiny dose of optimism)... The only times I missed an R wave, I got hit with it a week or two later, so I'm expecting the same here, but you never know! 🙂

R also. 2nd choice under UCSF

Haven't heard any interest from any of my top 10 preferences.

I got rejected today as well. Complete end of July, and I applied for KH. Guess it’s time to withdraw my app from KH??

R just now, completed ~ early August
Kinda expected tbh - I don’t think I am the person Stanford wants…

R earlier this evening. Complete 7/30. The Stanford Cardinal saw red today, I guess! Best of luck of to everyone else!

My solid 66 LM is probably pinned up in the office for jokes until then send that R after it's not funny anymore
Heh... I heard my 65 LM app was going to be used as TP in the restroom. But, I suppose that gives someone a chance of seeing it! I guess the downside is that it’s going to be reviewed by an a$$h—-.

If I were them, I'd be more concerned about the xenos filth in your avatar.

Somehow I've survived this R wave so far. Complete mid July. There's still hope!

I’m sensing heresy here.

They have no problem accepting a lower LM given the applicant has some unique quirk. Nobel prize, 3 Nature Pubs, salmon farmer, no middle finger and started a non-profit for those without middle fingers, under lava basket weaving master, etc

Same goes for any of the T5 schools I guess, whatever makes them “unique” and have good publicity potential.

In other words, do you have something that will make them say “WOW! This person is likely going to be famous in the future. We shall invest in them and lend them some of our fame and power to serve as a catalyst so that they can actually achieve their fame. They will then return our investment many folds and help keep our name and status well known”

i have 4 pubs and still got rejected. The competition at these places is insane and they can choose whoever they want really.

I'd be more concerned if someone wasnt a fan of the spooky skeletons that tried to use their own gods as pokemon and are currently ran by senile old crazy skeletons after taking a long nap.
This was in my secondary obviously.

Alaskan fisherman who has been on some Discovery Channel show? 75% accept, slap on some high stats and that'll be auto-accept.

Not quite, but I did take my dog to see Dr. Dee: Alaska Vet one time. Oh! And a fought a moose to get in my truck. Wonder if I should’ve used these as ECs instead of normal things.

I want to major in Under lava basket weaving. I go ape for Durable materials that can withstand magma

I can’t wait to crush your students on the boards. Thanks for the R
Many people do beat them. They still seem to get into the best residencies. The school name carries a lot of weight.
In most cases, what else you do matters a lot.

B-b-b-but name doesn’t matter, an MD is an MD!!!!!

Oh Jesus, let a gal grieve, No need to be so judgemental.
You will be fine. There are kids attending Stanford who do extremely well (>80 LizzyMs) who dont score interviews in their own school. Many of them went to other great medical schools and now being given residency interviews by Stanford.

True for people who are happy to be doctors. Those that want to go to research school residencies - school names and publications matter.

There are 21000 MD seats being filled each year. All the top schools combined have only about 1500 -2000 seats. The other 90% graduating from the rest of the medical schools will still get that MD and will be treating patients. Most likely those that go to top schools end up as teaching/research faculty and wont have as much of patient contact as do the other 90%.

Not trying to refute this at all because I BADLY want it to be true but.... how do you know? Is it based on invites/acceptances from previous years?
