Also does that mean they're done giving out As / close to being done? Today seems like mostly WL? Are they sending the rest of us Rs in 2020 D:
 
I interviewed mid Sept, got the holiday email, and haven’t gotten and email yet. Someone who emailed soon after me just did.

Per the latest email they're not open from the end of today to the next ~12 days and I doubt they would release many decisions during that period

Wait, everyone stop. I think we’re causing confusion. By happy holidays email, are we all referring to the one sent on 12/7?
 
What was the holiday email from today? Was it different from the 12/7 one?

"Greetings from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. We are now in December and only a few weeks away from the new year! Time certainly flies by. I am sure you are eagerly awaiting a decision. I wanted to reassure you that you will receive a decision soon. You can expect to hear from us in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience. See, I interviewed mid Sept and never got the email today, nor the waitlist email. I did however recieve the previous holidays email.

edit: Yes, I checked spam and also checked communication status - nothing.

Today (12/20) people got an email that says:

"I want to wish you all Happy Holidays! Our Admissions Committee is working diligently to get decisions to students as soon as possible. Our admission cycle will be rolling into the new year, so you can still expect to hear from us in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience. If you need to contact us for any reason, our office will be closed from end of business today through January 1st."
 
Today's email:

I want to wish you all Happy Holidays! Our Admissions Committee is working diligently to get decisions to students as soon as possible. Our admission cycle will be rolling into the new year, so you can still expect to hear from us in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience. If you need to contact us for any reason, our office will be closed from end of business today through January 1st.
 
Btw I didn’t get any holiday emails. Not the one on 12/7 and not the one from today, 12/20. I have a feeling they’ve reviewed all apps because I interviewed at the end of November. If you haven’t gotten an A or W maybe they’re going to review apps again before making a decision? Who knows.
 
People who interviewed on the same day as me (in late November) have gotten admissions decisions (acceptance or alternate list), yet I only received the happy holidays email... They must have gone through all the application files already! Are those of us who have been getting these check-in/follow-up/happy holidays emails post-interview the ones who have been silently rejected?!
 
My assumption would be that those who have not received an email at all today will hear back by the end of the day. The email was clearly meant to communicate not to expect decisions between tomorrow and January 1st because their office will be closed. So it would make sense that those who received the happy holidays email have not had a decision reached on their application. There are still about 2 hrs left in this business day, the people who have not heard anything today will hopefully receive an A/WL/R by the end of the day.

Edit: If I am wrong, then UCLA admissions needs to rethink their admissions process.
