Withdrew acceptance. IS. Good luck everyone!!
Love to see it. Congrats!Withdrew acceptance. IS. Good luck everyone!!
Very likely I willAny Idaho residents with both acceptances going to choose UW?
Very likely I will
+1 for being in the Facebook group but not decided yet.
Oh man, don't get my hopes up like that! Just saying, their "different" selection process has shown me a new level of stress... I know there's a lot of my fellow September/October interviewers out there also dying inside hahaha. So I emailed my premed advisor today about improving my application and she honestly thought my main issue was just that I submitted late. She also told me not to count out Utah yet as most of their decisions come out in mid-march. I am at a Utah school that has a great relationship with the U so she knows the dean and people on the admissions committee. She said that the U really does accept the majority in March. It is just how they do it and it is a different selection process than other schools. Lets have some more hope, people!
Edited: After rereading her email, she said the "majority," not half as I had originally written
I think the middle of April but not positive. Could be early April.Anyone know when scholarships are offered?
Are we thinking waitlists and rejections come by Thursday/Friday?
YesHow are waitlist and rejections sent? Acceptance is a call and are these emails?
I have it too, but I feel like I remember clicking "no" on that as part of the secondary - then again, who knows? That was like 8 months ago 😆Does everyone have a tab for the RUUTE application on their secondary portal now?
Work is going to be tough this week 🙁 I'm afraid of getting the R in the middle of the day when I have to be professional and spend the day coping with other peoples' stress. How did you handle it?My rejection came on Tuesday last year. We'll see!
Chocolate and repression! And the fact that it will be over soon. Maybe turn off email notifications and commit not to look until the end of the day? It’s not like knowing you are rejected/waitlisted 3 hours earlier will change anything. Plan for the worst, then hopefully you will get a good surprise. That’s what I’m trying to do but I plan on failing. (Already have, cause here I am on SDN 😆 )Work is going to be tough this week 🙁 I'm afraid of getting the R in the middle of the day when I have to be professional and spend the day coping with other peoples' stress. Having to be chained to a computer most of the day makes it so hard not to look... Of course you're right that's the only way to avoid not having a breakdown at work! I'll summon my self control and if that fails I'll tell people I just have allergies lolChocolate and repression! And the fact that it will be over soon. That's good that it wasn't totally devastating, and I hope I can be as good at mind over matter as you are! I think it will be heartbreaking but also a relief since I'll have closure and I can finally focus 100% on my other acceptance... My co workers are lovely but they don't really understand, I'll probably be coming here for solace hahahaIt sucked. I remember getting it at the beginning of my shift too. I'm lucky to have coworkers that I'm close with and was able to share it with them and have them build me back up. For me though it was incredibly motivating to get that R and I was able to focus on improving my application rather than groveling about it.

+1In the same boat as you as far as focusing on the other acceptance. We can be here for each other come what may. Hoping for good news for you!
We will be ready to build you back up! But primarily I’m rooting for you so you won’t need building in the first place. 😉That's good that it wasn't totally devastating, and I hope I can be as good at mind over matter as you are! Yeah on last year's thread they seemed to send decisions out Tuesday through Friday so it could be any day this week starting tomorrow :| oh the suspenseJust as an update: my friend who got in a few months ago said that Dr. Chan called him on a Wednesday and he said that they had just finished their adcom meeting. Granted, they may have more than one meeting per week but just a heads up.

I wish I didnt look at last years thread as it seemed like this week was pretty much all rejections with a couple wait lists
Yeah I made the mistake of checking last year's thread 3 months ago, so I've had extremely low expectations ever since seeing that graveyard lol. I feel you, but let's just get through because we could be wrong! A waitlist is pretty good anyhow, your chances will go up to almost 50% from there 🙂 good luck!I wish I didnt look at last years thread as it seemed like this week was pretty much all rejections with a couple wait lists
Guys remember SDN isn’t a perfect representation- the important thing is that there are spots left. You could be very next. 🙂Yeah seriously did anyone get in last march?!
Right? The tab shows the number of emails in the gmail inboxI keep glancing up and the Chrome tab with my Gmail open and hearing the Jaws pre-shark buildup in my head 😆
I think they are going to do it Thursday because that’s the day no one thinks they will. They have to keep us on our toes.Just to clarify to everybody, I actually received my rejection on Wednesday March 13th last year. Looks like we have another day to worry if nobody has heard anything yet. 10AM seems to be prime notification time for the U.
Hahaha but my toes are so tired, just put me out of my misery! Not to be unbearably neurotic, but the first rejections were sent on Tuesday after 3pm last year... oh boy oh boyI think they are going to do it Thursday because that’s the day no one thinks they will. They have to keep us on our toes.

I wonder if there’s a possibility of them sending out decisions next week since the 15th is on a Sunday. I sure hope not
That’s good to know. The other MD school I interviewed at is sending out decisions by March 18th so I was hoping this wouldn’t be the case here!Highly doubtful. My understanding is that most allopathic medical schools have agreed on March 15th as a final date to let students know of their decisions. There may be exceptions to this but it seems to be a rule of which Utah has been steadfast about.
I agree but it’s definitely just an AAMC guideline, not rule. Another MD school I interviewed at recently said they are interviewing through April. I knew that was somewhat common with DO schools but I was surprised to see an allopathic school do that. But yeah there’s no hard rule.Highly doubtful. My understanding is that most allopathic medical schools have agreed on March 15th as a final date to let students know of their decisions. There may be exceptions to this but it seems to be a rule of which Utah has been steadfast about.
The U has done this before, or so I’ve been told by someone at the U. The last time it was on a Sunday, final decisions went out on Monday, the 16th.I wonder if there’s a possibility of them sending out decisions next week since the 15th is on a Sunday. I sure hope not
TortureWell, we waited this long... What's a few more days?
