2019-2020 Washington University in St. Louis

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
# of calls and # of calls reported on SDN are way different. I’d say definitely more calls to go, maybe not on SDN though

Well of course its a guess on the SDN number. What a grim crowd tonight. More calls are coming! Maybe not for me, but I bet 3 more tomorrow.

I hope so! I’ve been anxious about this since my September interview haha I’m not having fun anymore

I'll put a dollar on four reported calls before March 15, just for laughs

Got the call earlier today at 9pm EST from Dr. Ratts! wasn't expecting it at all since it was already so late at night, I'm beyond excited! (Interviewed late Jan).

Excellent and congratulations! see we still have hope!

Why would calls be so spaced out?

Totally conjecture but maybe they're still meeting on the last few people? Or they're giving calls lists to people but those people are busy?

Wow so they’re potentially still deciding.. 🙁

Don't take that as fact, I'm just as in the dark as everyone else. It could also be that people getting in just aren't posting it.

I think they also have to pace how many calls they make a day... you have to remember they’re also offering scholarships, so they need to think strategically... also someone referenced a fb page, but never posted the link? If you really want to track potential unreported acceptances you can agonize over the number of members added day to day. I don’t recommend it for your mental health, but...

Given the major change in curriculum, I am willing to bet a dollar that more candidates will get accepted this year than last, as a lot of elite students who get into multiple top 5 schools will ultimately turn Wash U down due to the risk factor of an unknown and yet unproven curriculum, regardless of how well researched, planned and implemented. Until results are known in 4 years, it is still a risk that those with the privilege of holding multiple offers from top schools which I believe will factor heavily into their ultimate decision. Whether the ADCOM has anticipated this and will be making say 20% more offers upfront or will resort to pulling a lot of people from the waitlist after 4/30, we all IMHO have a shot at still getting an A. I doubt I do, since I am coming from a state school, but a lot of you very sharp people will get in. I always knew I was a longshot but I have no regrets and will count it as a lifetime honor to have been interviewed at such a prestigious medical school, and have been accepted by two medical schools, one of which is a top 40 school, so I have no regrets for giving Wash U my best shot. I truly wish you all the best of luck and am certain you will make exceptional physicians who will lead medicine into new cures and treatments for our patients one day so we all want you to be successful for all of our future patients!

As someone also from a state school I enjoyed reading this until that part

This... also, WashU has always had a hard time retaining students due to it’s location...

I heard board scores dove after UCSF made a change, and in our small community information spreads at the speed of light, so I am certain the yield will dip this year, giving more of us opportunity than we thought possible 🙂. Hold on my friends. It ain't over til its over.

Yeah I’m 75% sure I’ll get a WL at this point.. hope we know either way by Friday

Unfortunately from last year's thread it looked like there was a big gap after the last calls and the WL wave hit on March 15. But who's to say? That Thursday theory sounds nice so I'm going to choose to believe it

State school gang rise up. If this whole T20 thing doesn't work out, I'm gonna go out there and kill it at my state med school. Then, I can wow all the top residencies in my desired specialty and fall all the way down my match list 😉.

I'm still holding out a little hope for that Thursday adcom meeting theory but at this point the WL seems much more likely
