Hi guys, I have a question. I got a letter from WashU mailed to my home address Sept 19 saying that I should apply based on my MCAT score-- have any of you gotten this too? It seems pretty generic and idk why they sent it to me, because my MCAT is 516 and literally the border of 10th percentile. Would it be worth applying? esp this late?

I got an interview with a 514. You should def apply.

Hi guys! When did they we can expect to hear back regarding admission decisions? Also, is WashU rolling?

Does anyone know what the interview format is? And how long they are? Also, would you recommend going to the social the night before?

"40 minute" open-file interview, "20 minute" closed-file interview. I use quotes because both went overtime. Both were pretty conversational.

Personally didn't go to the social because I flew in late, but they house all of us interviewees in the same area(s) of the Core.

If you can go to the social, I recommend it! It was really fun, loved talking to the students

Does anyone who stayed in the Core know if the rooms have irons? I would think so, but just checking since I might have to do some last minute suit ironing to avoid being a crumpled mess.

No irons in the room. I believe there is an iron that is shared among the rooms. When I interviewed, I could not find it as I think someone was hogging it. I had to resort to trying my best to get wrinkles out via shower steam.

They have irons in the hall cabinet that you can use (side note: I got a small travel steamer and it's been a lifesaver, would highly recommend)

So I got an interview invite here, and I am freaking out. Of course, I was shocked when I opened the email, and I am excited to have this opportunity. I keep waiting for someone to send me a correction email. I don't want to get attached because it is a super reach for me. How are y'all managing your expectations going into these interviews?

If they invited you interview, you have a chance to get accepted. Do your best at the interview and hope for the best.

Thanks for saying this. To be honest, I was not expecting to hear back from them, so I am still processing. It's goes to show how random this process is. I have only had silence from my state schools and other "target" schools. I guess I need to take this in stride and take it as an indication that my application isn't trash.

Did y'all get a confirmation for the CORE lodging? I saved the page but haven't heard since. Was anyone not able to get lodging here because spaces filled up?

I also got this letter. I figured that if they’re sending it out this late it probably means they want to see more applications. (That or they just want a bit more $$). I went ahead and applied, I don’t have a whole lot to lose at this point.

No dates available at all?? and the scheduling website is crawling.. anyone has the same problem?

Their interview scheduling tab is notoriously bad. Just keep trying and it'll work eventually
No luck with the portal. Called the office and they happily scheduled me right away for the date I want. Very nice experience but that dial-up speed is something..

My interview is in a week and I have not heard back about the housing yet. I sent an email yesterday but I'm wondering if I should call them if I haven't heard back by tomorrow or Thursday?

I am in the same boat, let me know if they get back to you today please! I emailed them yesterday as well but will probably call tomorrow if I don't receive a response today.

I thought all you had to do is answer yes to lodging and they will reserve a room for you. I just did that.

what's the protocol for thank-you letters? should we send those directly to the interviewers, or to admissions?

I just called the office and they said they are sending out confirmations today. They said to check your spam and also if you don't hear back by the end of today, to call them tomorrow. Hope that helps!

Can confirm. Just got housing email for my interview next Wednesday

If we emailed thank you notes to our interviewers, are we also supposed to upload them to the portal? Not sure if they said anything about this on interview day.

Is the portal down for anyone else by chance?

For anyone who interviewed recently did they give an idea on when decisions could be out?

what is their process for releasing a secondary for later applicants?
