2019-2020 Weill Cornell

Y’all think I can make it to penn station in time for a 740 or 8:15 pm departure? Should I push it to 9 instead? Thanks!

If you have a PM interview, they said the day may end at 6pm. I think you would have enough time for a 7:40 train

Any reports from this past weekend's MD/PhD interview?

Does anyone know how Cornell feels about updates/additional LOR? I interviewed back in September and feel like no communication at all until decision release in March is a long time lol. I also don’t know if my update is substantial; I’m a project manager for scribing so I just implemented a new scribing program at a new hospital successfully and would either talk about that or get a new LoR from the medical director or something

My MSTP app was complete 7/20, and I've somehow survived the R hammer thus far. Still radio silence though. Their only remaining interview dates are 10/31 and 11/21, but I already have an interview scheduled at one of my top choice programs on the 21st. I'm worried that if I do get an interview at this point, it'll put me in a scheduling conflict. Is Tri-I open to status update requests? I'm hoping to get an interview on the 31st, which is

If you have just interviewed, it might be better to wait until early January to submit an update. Not sure about new LORs since you have already interviewed but accomplishments should be turned in.

Hey guys, just received an II!

Now, at the risk of seeming super neurotic/idiotic/etc., how is one supposed to go about scheduling the interview? From what I gather, we just email the interview coordinator our selected dates, but is there actually a webpage or something where we're supposed to select our dates-- that seems to be the norm for the other schools I have been lucky enough to interview at.

Again, this is very likely me over-thinking, but I don't wanna make a bad impression by scheduling an interview incorrectly! Please dont flame me

Just email Ms. Cabrera with your top three choices out of the dates they offered along with whether you want the am or pm section. Also don’t forget to send another email with your picture. Congrats on the interview!

Congrats!

What dates are they on?

Congratz! Do you mind sharing your complete day and LM with us??

hi has anyone here requested a student host for their interview and not gotten one? just wondering if it's likely that I'll have to book a hotel D:

i got my ii last week and they had mostly early nov dates, so i'd think there's still a lot to go!
How long after you emailed them your preferences did they confirm a date with you? I thought the confirmation was supposed to be sent within one business day, but I emailed them a few days ago and have yet to receive a confirmation :/

i got it the next day. they've been pretty responsive to my emails, so i'd suggest bumping the email if you don't hear back soon!

You most likely will get a host, but you probably won't be an assignment until about a week before your interview just because our schedules can be super fluid. That being said, it never hurts to preemptively book a hotel, especially since most of them offer you a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance. Hope this helps 🙂

this helps a lot! thanks a bunch!

Anyone with a recent II know what dates they are currently scheduling? Might try my chances with an ITA email.

Any mstp applicants complete mid-july not heard back yet? Someone from msk viewed my linkedin this weekend... this is killing me. There are only 2 dates left (halloween and nov 21, when I already have another interview scheduled)

The October date was filled weeks ago. They finished the “last” screening session last week. We’ll hear back some time this week. I contacted the office and heard this from them.

I did mention that I had another interview! I think it makes it clear that you're definitely required to be in town on that date and are trying to reduce costs if possible. I wouldn't worry too much about wording because they're the only school I know of that literally encourages you to send these emails. Just say you're gonna be in the city on that day and understand that things are hard to accommodate but if being considered for an interview, it would be great if it was on that day.
Hey there! I want to send an ITA letter to Cornell, but am not sure where to send it. Should I send it do their admissions-update email or do I email it to the dean of admissions? Who did you end up sending it to, if you don’t mind me asking?

Btw, the interview slots for the MSTP are completely filled. If you haven't heard back, I would assume that they are holding off on sending out the official axe in case people drop out of the interview.

Thanks for the info. Do you know anything regarding regular MD?

I do not. But if my experience from years ago still holds true, they conduct interviews all the way up until March. I received my MD II in Dec/Jan for a March interview IIRC. There's ultimately very little you can do except wait, as unpleasant as that sounds.

Can confirm, got the axe a few hours ago. I sent them an update Monday FWIW

Does anyone know if they have an interview date on 12/5? Thanks in advance 🙂

I still haven't received any word back from the school regarding my interview dates (not even a confirmation acknowledging my email) 🙁

I've followed up via phone a few times, but each time I'm told that the delay is simply because admissions is very busy, which I completely understand! However, some of the interview dates that I was available for have either passed or are approaching very soon, so I am a little worried. I was wondering, is anyone else on the same boat as me?
