+1 When did you get the letter in the mail? I was SO surprised! I called admissions and they said the director was not able to get calls out before the letters made it to us. Still incredibly happy! Interviewed on 10/18.
It got to my address on Monday morning. I did not see that coming, but I'm not complaining!

For those who were accepted via phone, have you received any emails or portal updates since?

Has anyone else who is IS and was complete within the first week possible not heard anything back yet? I'm slowly losing hope.

Me! LM 72.5.
To be fair I am a reapplicant and my stats are unbalanced 🙁

Interviewed 10/21 and still haven’t heard... thinking about calling since it’s past the 6 week mark. Has anyone else heard?

nothing yet... OOS but grew up in Wisconsin and plan to move back. complete 8/2

Haven’t heard yet either, mind reporting back what they said?
The admissions office said that they anticipate that I will hear back by the end of next week. They said that it was a little slower given the holidays and that was their best guess as far as timing! Good luck to everyone - hope this helps 🙂

How receptive is the committee to ITA emails, pre-II? Though late in the cycle, I'm still wondering if it would be worth a shot.

Im an OOS, MD/PhD applicant with ties to the midwest, but no direct ties towards Wisco

So I got an email today saying my application was withdrawn because I didn’t submit a secondary... but I don’t think I was ever sent one... oh well

Thank you so much!

Waitlisted just now, interviewed 10/21. OOS zero ties to Wisconsin.

OOS and just received an email saying that they no longer have interview spaces left for OOS applicants. Oh well, Wisconsin would have been too cold for my Southern self anyway 😛 Good luck everyone!

Also in the pre-ii OOS R group. No more interview slots available.

Also got the OOS R....but I thought I was IS? I self-identified as IS on the app and am 99.99999% sure I meet the requirements laid out in the referenced statute.

Sent them an email so we'll see, but I'm prepared for the worst. This is the worst rejection yet, WI is my home state 🙁

Same here! Did you indicate IS in your secondary and verify your residency on UW-Madison registrar's office website? If so, they should be able to confirm you are IS. I called yesterday after I received the OOS-R, and they verified that I am IS. The said I could disregard the R email, and I would now be considered as an IS applicant. Glad they were able to fix it so quickly, but I can't help but think I'm now at a significant disadvantage when my application was complete Aug 17th.

Yep - I just got an email back saying it was an error and that I am IS. While I am relieved, I agree that I definitely feel like it's a disadvantage to have been in the OOS pile this whole time. Pleased not to be done yet, but a tiiiiiny bit salty about their mistake.

Wow that is really messed up! I feel bad/mad for you guys. You do all of this work and pay the fee just to be mistakenly considered OOS. Then UW doesn't even compensate for this huge error. How could you have even known you were mistakenly considered for the wrong group? Damn...sorry guys. I really wonder how this happened to multiple people...

Rejected just now OOS. Extremely disappointed in UW given it appears they took my money and never actually reviewed my application. Given I paid the fee with the very base expectation that my file would at least be opened, I feel robbed.
