Does anyone know how many people they pull off of the alternate list each year?

So i am a little confused on the updates on the portal. Does hold happen before or after Your file is under review?

I thought GW was only releasing admissions decisions every 2 weeks on Thursdays but people seem to be finding out today?? now I'm stressed 🙁 also wishful thinking but do you think there might be any decisions soon for the 10/15 interviewees?

Just based on my personal experience and what I've seen in this thread, I think your file goes straight from "complete" to "hold", whereas if it goes from "complete"/"hold" to "under review", you're about to get an II.

(My personal experience is from the "complete" to "hold" part, not the II part. 🙁)
okay, thank you!! so do you get notified of a hold? how long does it stay as complete?

9/29 went from complete to under review

I think once you’re under review that’s a good sign that you’ll be getting an II
What if it says "complete and has been reviewed" and "placed on hold for re-review at a later date"?? I was "complete", then noticed this message this past weekend (about a month after I submitted).

That's the hold that everyone's been talking about. I think most people are put on hold. I was complete 7/14 and was put on hold until last Friday when I was moved to under review. Now who knows what will happen but I'm a DC resident so I'm really hoping to stick around next year.

Well, I spoke it into existence.

II just now. Complete 7/14, put on hold 7/20, pulled off hold 10/23. Scheduled for December.
DC resident, non-trad, LM 65.

Congrats! Did you just check your portal and notice you were no longer on hold?

I interviewed on 9/24. After my interview it had the standard status of that said it would be up to 8 weeks until they got back to me. I checked today and it was changed slightly to "Thank you so much for taking the time to visit The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and interview with us! The Committee on Admissions carefully and judiciously reviews files and as such we humbly appreciate your patience during this process and will be in contact with you once a decision is made."

Any thoughts on what this means? Decision en route today?

Does anyone know how to send thank-you notes after interviews? Is it just to the portal?

Did you guys type your updates in the message space or did you type and turn it into pdf and attach it?

I added a note but my update was a recent publication so I also attached that as a PDF.

First time sending in updates, how are you guys formatting what you say about your update? I started a new research position a couple weeks ago and some new volunteering. I'm on hold here!

I had the same change today. Not trying to read too much into it, but seems like a waitlist to me.

What percentage of interviewees get accepted usually? (My MSAR expired and I dont want to pay to renew lol)

People who already interviewed, are you guys planning to send a LOI while waiting?

Yes. You should download the application first. Then, google “Test Cisco webex” And you should be able to see what the interface looks like and adjust settings accordingly!
Did both your interview meeting invites come in one email? Both my invites say faculty and the same time and I can find absolutely nothing on how the student interview works or when it's supposed to be. Or is it you just stay in the same meeting and a student interviews you directly after? sorry if that was a lot.

the invite itself came as one email that just mentioned there would be a student and a faculty interview.

the meeting links were two separate emails with different links for each interview. if you don't have a separate one for the faculty/student interviewers ~the day before your interview, I'd contact the admissions office! I didn't get any specific info until the day before though, hope that helps!!

no acceptances/WLs today? Does everyone think were going to wait another two weeks for more movement?
