the invite itself came as one email that just mentioned there would be a student and a faculty interview.

the meeting links were two separate emails with different links for each interview. if you don't have a separate one for the faculty/student interviewers ~the day before your interview, I'd contact the admissions office! I didn't get any specific info until the day before though, hope that helps!!

If it’s the first one that you received, then it should be for the faculty interview! You will receive another link for student

I think they mean that it's their second hold status of this cycle? Like they had a hold from another school, and today they got a GW hold as well?

Hello hopefully can help clarify/summarize parts of the past 21 pages of thread.

We submit an application (complete) -> GW reviews it and decides to either put us on hold for re-review at a later date(vast majority of applicants) or an immediate interview. At some point of time later (which is apparently recently), the GW adcom will go back to everyone they've put on hold and rereview them (per someone earlier in the thread it means that a second person reads your application). Apparently, those whose portal goes from hold -> under review are likely to get an II.

On another note, anyone on hold since July and still living in the hold?

But this week was really hard for me to focus bc of election anxiety. However, election anxiety is now interview anxiety. Any tips? Seems like the interviews are pretty conversational?

they're definitely conversational! the student interview especially is super casual. it's hard but try not to worry too much, just know yourself well 🙂 it's a closed interview too if that helps!
