2020-2021 Loma Linda

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone know where I can find the 2019-2020 Loma Linda thread? I'd love to see when applicants last year started to get II's. Really interested in this school!

So my mom found this taco filling while shopping at Aldi today and sent me this picture. Is this a sign that I will get an II from Loma Linda soon? (also had no idea that Loma Linda was a brand haha)

You may want to update admissions with your new experience for them to consider it in your application.

I think my neuroticism is rearing its ugly head, but does anyone else have a similar status to mine. Mine says "Your application is complete and in review."

Yup and that's a good thing - I believe.

Does anyone know what kind of questions the reference letter sent to the clergy will be?
Thank you

what is this letter ur talking about? they ask the person you put as ur clergy leader to write u a letter?

I'm guessing this is about the section in the secondary that asks for the phone number of a clergy or religious leader who can serve as reference. This is probably a way for the adcoms to know how religious an applicant is or to gauge the authenticity of the things written for the secondary application.

However, I haven't heard about any letters being sent to the clergy leaders but I have no previous experience with LLUSM so I would be curious to hear what someone who knows anything about it has to say.

Did anyone's status "Your application is complete and review." move from the last row to the first one on the status page? I'm on the edge of my seat right now with my toes and fingers crossed!

Same! I didn't realize it moved.

yeah I noticed that too and idk what to think 🤣

Does anyone else have a "Do Not Send Flag: No" note next to their letter writer type? What could this mean?

This is my first time applying to Loma Linda and was just wondering how to answer the "Describe any use of these substances within the past year." question. Is it okay to be honest and say you drink socially but would be willing to abstain for the 4 years?

I would definitely be honest, yes! I don't think it would kill your chances.

Yes, I was referring to the part of the secondary application that asks for the clergy's number. I called admissions about it and they made it sound like they were going to email a form, but now I'm confused because there's no space to put the clergy's email. I just wanted to give some heads up to the person who is potentially writing a letter.

I applied last year and put my pastor down as a reference in the religious information section of the secondary. He told me that the school gave him a phone call to ask a few questions about me. He wasn't any more specific than that.

Ok, great, thank you so much.

For the " Identify experiences in your life that illustrate your service to others ", did you list the experiences? Or did you talk about an experience in paragraph for?

The plurality of experience is confusing me. Maybe I am overthinking this ahah

I brought a few experiences to light and delved into each for a few sentences or so
