Got an interview coming up. Anyone have any tips/ does the fact that it’s in late Janruary make getting an acceptance less probable?
not necessarily! i didn't even get my interview invite at maryland last year until end of january - interviewed in feb and accepted outright a couple weeks later. still possible!

Is being on a paper that is currently pending/on its last legs of work and will be accepted in a few weeks worthy of an update? I'm currently on hold pre-ii

I don't think so. With regards to publications, I think ''accepted'' or ''published'' are the only influential keywords.

Anyone have insight into if a letter of interest will do anything for a post-interview hold? The alternative is to wait until the hold shifts into a WL (presumably in ...March? unsure) and then send it then

Is this md-PhD? All the advice I have received regarding updates and LOIs is that it can only help (unless you write a bad letter!). say adcom is between you and one other person and you send a letter saying that this program is your top choice, etc and the other person sends nothing, then it may tip the scale in your favor.

Yeah, MD-PhD! I was mostly just wondering if they'd even re-look at my application now versus if I get placed on the waitlist later. Similar end result though, they'll see it when (if) they see it haha 😂 thanks!

WL after interviewing 1/13... does anyone know what the movement is like? do y'all think they've filled up the class and are just WL'ing and rejecting everyone else?

Unfortunately, UoM's waitlist movement is historically pretty poor. MSAR says they accepted 20 off a 200 person waitlist in the previous cycle.

where did you find that info on MSAR?

In the middle of the "Admissions" section, they have a section regarding their waitlist. It tells you how many applicants receive a waitlist and how many they typically let off. In addition, it also lists any specific waitlist procedures they have. In UoM's case, they will tell you if you're in the upper or lower half of their waitlist when they're done interviewing.

does anyone have Maryland's match list? I can't find it anywhere on their website.

For accepted folks who are IS, does it still say you’re out of state on the acceptance letter? What did you do to fix it?

Hey everyone 🙂 I interviewed on 1/13/2021 and was wondering when you all thought we would be hearing back! 😛

does anyone know if scholarships are still being given out? I know a big group of people got them on Friday (congrats all!!) & I didn't get one, so I'm a bit worried I won't be getting any scholarships, which I definitely need 😭

I guess It depends on when you got accepted and when you filled your FAFSA. When did you get the A ?
