Hey guys is there a way to access the secondary application in case we want to review what we said....

I interviewed on 11/11 and haven’t heard anything yet. Portal still says my app is under committee review.
 
not sure if this has been asked before, but is it worth it to send a letter of interest/updates here as an OOS applicant on hold right now (for re-review after December 1st?) any thoughts would be appreciated 🙂

Oftentimes, OOS-ers may raise the question of "why here?" Additional information on your ties, specific interests, etc to an institution can only help.

Anyone else’s portal switch to decision made this morning but still have nothing?

Question...in the acceptance email it says we need to submit a background check within 15 days of acceptance through Castlebranch and certifiedprofile. I thought schools do background checks on accepted applicants starting in January using Certiphi. Do we have to do both for this school?

Also..did anyone pay $12 for the badge?

Where accepted MD or MD/PhD? I was accepted MD and my letter didn’t say anything about a badge and it says the background check is done thru AMCAS

I'm MD, and yeah the letter says it's done through AMCAS, but if you open your acceptance email and click on the "Complete your incoming student background check", the document says we need to complete a different background check within 15 days of acceptance.

It says in the acceptance email document that COM students don't need to submit another one

Thank you! So..just to clarify..we DON'T need to pay the $135 to do this background check through CastleBranch? Our background check will be done through the AAMC like every other school starting in January?

Yes

"College of Medicine MD, MD/MPH, RMSP, and MD/PhD do not need to complete another background check, as one was completed through AMCAS."

Did you ever end up receiving an email/call? I was accepted in the portal with an "acceptance letter," but I'm starting to get nervous that it was a system glitch. Thanks!

My acceptance email was in the spam folder, so check there for yours. If your acceptance letter has your full name in it there's no way it's a glitch haha.

If you received an official acceptance letter with your name on it, then it almost certainly wasn't a glitch. Congrats on the acceptance!

That's what I was hoping, I just didn't want to get too excited in case it was like the "Hold" glitch. Thank you!!
 
Do you find out who your interviewer is prior to the interview?
 
Does upstate have student-run clinics and specific research programs? Can any current students or really familiar students let me know? Thank you so much!
 
Hey y'all I was put on hold a while and I just noticed my status changed in the portal. It says decision made. Anyone know if this is good or bad news? trying to brace myself. I'm IS for reference

can't really say whether it's a good or bad thing...but i guess upstate has started re-reviewing apps that were placed on hold? hopefully it's an II for you though!

honestly I hope it will be a pleasant surprise but it sounds like folks here would have their status changed straight to interview so Iolllll
