Are you sure you were looking at your official AMCAS application because mine does show the semester hours?
Omg I was looking at an older version of my printed AMCAS application. I just pressed "print application" and now it shows my semester hours. Sorry about that!

I believe 4 quarter units = 2.70 semester hours
That's really weird, but for me the conversions were pretty much: 1 quarter unit= 0.70 semester units; 3 quarter= 2 semester; 4 quarter= 2.7 semester
Thank you to you two for helping me out!

Also it's been an hour and im still entering coursework ...

Hi! I know some of you asked this but I couldn't find a clear answer. I took AP Calc BC so I only had to take one quarter of calculus in college and one quarter of stats. That adds to 5.4 units and the requirement is 8. I was planning on including my AP course but for semester hours on my amcas application it obviously doesn't say anything and there is no grade.

For anyone who has been in this situation and already submitted, what did you do? Did you just put 2.7 to fulfill the 8? Did you put zero? For the grade did you just put pass? THANK YOU in advance to anyone who responds a lot of my UC friends are in my same boat!

I also have the same question for Spanish because I took that AP test so I didn't take any Spanish classes in college but would still really like to include this in the box asking about Spanish.

For me, my college granted credit for AP tests. I went to a semester school, so for each AP test I got 4 units, and I put “credit” for the grade. If your school didn’t grant credit but only let you pass out of classes then maybe I would put 0 units but mark the class with a waiver request or put in the comments that it let you pass out of those requirements.

Wondering about this too. I was going to give myself the equivalent of 2.70 semester hours for each AP Calculus class, AB and BC? Or, not sure whether I should lump AB and BC calculus together for a total of 2.70 hours.
I have 2 other undergraduate math classes, but need 1 more to reach the minimum of 8 and that's why I want to use my AP credit haha.

so I never took spanish, but I did french. In the Spanish box should I mark as not complete or put in my french classes and ask for a substitution?

Also are you guys putting in ALL coursework, or just enough to reach the credit count??

I was in the same situation and just marked it as not complete. They're not looking for any second language competency, they are looking for Spanish because of the IE population. That being said, Spanish is not a hard requirement so it shouldn't hurt you.

This.

It's not even a soft requirement, more a recommendation. But I guess for medschool apps, any recommendation is a soft requirement lol

Hmmm, still haven't received a secondary. Maybe fell through the cracks? Or I'm just really impatient lol wondering if anyone else is in this position

Not sure if this has already been asked, but for those people who didn't meet the 8 hour semester requirements for certain sections (for me, it was because of AP test credits), did you guys have trouble saving the page and having it marked as complete? I made sure that the final box at the bottom was checked and also the box for incomplete Spanish section.

Hi! so i dont have 16 semester hours of chem (even though i took all the chem courses required for life science majors at my school + biochem) and i saw that labs dont count.. does anyone know what i should do?
I am in a similar situation. I went to a quarter system school and took all the required courses, but when I convert it to semester hours (verified AMCAs) it doesn't meet their requirement. Has anyone talked to them about this? Should I list the quarter hours (would meet requirement) or the converted semester hours?

Yes I figured it out you have to request a waiver for the incomplete units and just write a comment saying your school gave you ap credit so you didn't have to take another quarter

I haven't talked to them about it, but I went to a quarter system school too. I'm going to include my units in semester hours because it asks for it and a full year from my school is usually 3 quarters of 4 unit classes that adds up to 8.1 semester hours. For the chemistry one, I included ochem and biochem to reach 16 hours.

Physics is confusing for me because my lectures only add up to 6 semester hours because the labs were separate and add up to 3.9 hours. People earlier say that they're mainly looking for a year in the subject so I'll request a waiver for the 2 units missing.

Sometimes majors don't require all the courses for premed requirements like ochem for my major was only 2 of 3 quarters, but schools like to see a full year. If you took a year of chem, a year of ochem, with a dash of biochem, then it should be fine or be more than the requirement. Maybe if a full year of lectures doesn't add up to 8 like my physics, then you could ask for a waiver or substitute? Might be helpful to ask them.

Hey, are you guys putting the course name in the title box? Or does it have to be something like Eng 101?

I took a dual enrollment Spanish course during high school which I got community college credit for. My community college transcript gives me credit for the semester course, but since it was taken at my high school it was a year-long course. Do I put the completion date as the date that high school year ended or the date that the semester in which I was awarded credit on my community college transcript?

I'm also in the same boat. My two lab courses were their own separate classes. With those two lab courses, I'm at about 17.96 semester hours. But without them, I'm at 13.3 semester hours. In the little box, it says "16 semester hours in general chemistry, organic Chemistry or biochemistry, labs optional". I'm not sure if I should still include the labs then. Or should I include them and request a waiver or a substitution?

I just emailed them today? Does anyone have any advice?

Definitely go with whatever they respond, but I don't see why the labs wouldn't be able to count! Especially coming from the quarter system, the labs tend to be their own courses, which to me would make their credits count!

I didn’t! What did it say if you don’t mind sharing?
Yeah no worries, I got y’all. Looks like they added a FAQ section.

UCRSOM Secondaries Portal: Premed Course Inventory - Error "This page is not completed"
renderTimingPixel.png

Hello everyone, sorry for the weird reply. I am just having the toughest time trying to figure this out. I have inputted all of the information they need for me to on their "Premed Course Inventory" page. For some odd reason, it still states "Responses on this page did not meet the page requirements" and "This page is not completed" despite all of the categories filled. I am unsure of what the problem is. I thought it was the Spanish Requirement slot that was the problem, but I even tried inputting a fake class to try and proceed with submitting the secondaries, but it is not working still!!! I am so frustrated lol. Tried to submit it last night before the start of this week so they could possibly review it. Tried calling them but no one is picking up. Already emailed them, but it'll take some time and that doesn't guarantee they'll know the solution.

If you've experienced this before with their secondaries, please help 🙁

do you have 40 science core credits?

do you have 40 science core credits?
Yes, I do. I inputted 49 total for science core. All of the other categories are filled, except for Spanish, which I currently have as "I did not complete any courses in this section." In the Chemistry section, I replaced Biochemistry for a semester of General Chemistry. It looks like this. I don't think it's the issue though.

It seems like you only have a total of 15 semester hours. You need 16 as it says at the top.

Did anyone submit their UCR secondary and then get another invite to complete a secondary, lol? I did get an application complete email but that second secondary invite is whack. Like, I would gladly send that extra secondary invite to someone else...

yea I submitted my app and got an invite to complete the secondary and my complete email at the same time

Do we need to put every course that we took that falls under each category or just enough to satisfy the requirements?

Yes a while ago, after submitting my secondary to the invite that was in my junk mail, I received a secondary invite again the next day. Of course, I checked to make sure the status is complete.

+1 Just submitted and the same thing happened to me lol

These are the instructions they posted in the FAQ section of the application! It looks like you have to request a waiver. Not sure what you would put for the comment section tho. I'm in the same boat as you as well.

Did anyone else not receive their previous email stating that the cycle is delayed? just wondering because I haven't gotten a secondary
I received it and still have not received a secondary... I am IS, ORM, as many others who have received secondaries, and verified early (I think june?). Im thinking about reaching out to admissions? Thoughts anyone?
