but on the seconary page, it says The University of California, Riverside School of Medicine invites all candidates to submit a secondary application to our MD program. "

confused
I dont see this. Where does it say that?

when you click on application on the left side

Would you mind screenshotting it now? I do agree that when they were having trouble with their system, they had that on their website, but I think they have retracted on that sentiment.

"All verified applicants meeting eligibility" implies a screen, in my opinion.

You could always call and ask them
Yes I did they didn't answer. In the email it says after intial review. It's conflicting because on the website it says verified eligible applicants. but on the secondary page it said the above that "all candidates" receive secondaries

After the long anticipated wait....finally got a secondary invite a short while ago
congrats! do you think they send it to all? i still dont have the answer whether someone reviews and actually finds you a good fit for the school then decides to send secondary or it's send to all?

Hopefully this will be me soon?.... Do you mind sharing your stats/info? It seems like they are screening this year and I submitted my primary and was verified back in June... Praying for a secondary soon!

How do you assume they're screening? Their screening isn't automatic tho right? It selected applicants?

If there is a screen, it will most likely be a classic 3.0 GPA/500 MCAT of the sort (however this is not said anywhere, just an assumption from previous years since I'm a UCR alum and know many in their current med school, just basing this off of what they've heard from peers in the med school itself as well).

I personally do believe there is a screen because if there wasn't, it would be simple to just send a mass invitation to every applicant's email after verification. However, they could also be sending them out in batches to lighten their workload. Stay patient, and email the admissions people if you don't receive a secondary by November 1st! This was quoted to me in the update email response they gave me regarding this issue.

BUt as far as I'm aware, UCR doesn't have auto screen. On Msar it says it's selected applicants not screened. Don't you think it's manually reviewed? Secondary says after intial review of Amcas app

When i emailed admissions this is what they said

Current applicants: The admissions team has been working diligently to send out invitations for qualifying applicants to complete a secondary. This delay is normal. We acknowledge that there are some applicants that submitted the primary application, but have not yet received a secondary email. At this point we ask that everyone be patient while we continue to work on sending out communication to eligible applicants. Note: It could take several weeks for some applicants to receive an update from the admissions team.

Did you guys put all the BCPM courses + Humanities/SocSci or just enough to satisfy their required units?

Pretty sure there were some interviews today. If any of you with IIs attended the MMI today, how was it overall!? 🙂

Not too sure if they screen or not because I'm a sub 3.0 applicant with mediocre mcat but received a secondary. The only thing I have going for me is IE status and my experience lol. The only reason I applied because I of FAP .

I interviewed today (not a haider applicant). Overall it was good! Just the usual advice, be yourself! 🙂
Congrats and good luck in the application process! Only if you don't mind sharing, what are your stats? Are you from the IE or SoCal?

I got the same email too. Honestly I really hope there isn't a screen, but I hate the fact that their wording in the email implies that there is one but their actual site says all will receive one. Regardless, being patient is all you can do at this point. Keep checking your email and your spam folders and fingers crossed the secondary will appear in one of them soon! Keep your head up

Then I wonder why they'd select you to send secondary? Some people haven't receive it. So wonder if it's not an auto screen but it's the truly interested? You have an upward trend in SMP

I received the secondary but have a low mcat score which is why I asked if they're truly interested or it's sent to all

Don't lose hope man. From what I heard UCR is looking for more than just stats. If you are connected to the area which you are you have a great chance since you have experience working in the Inland Empire which is what UCR is looking for in an applicant. I wish you luck 🙂.

second this. I mean the fact he received secondary means they're interested right?

Boxing up my little hope and keep it close to my heart haha

I submitted secondary 2.5 weeks after I received 10/1
Should I be worried of the 1 week deadline?
