2021-2022 Indiana

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Since there are no II's in December, what do we think will happen in January? Do you think early-Jan interviewees may hear back in the same month?

Does anyone know if you can change your campus rankings? Or once you submit it, is it set in stone?

Anybody who got accepted in October had any of their transcripts marked off the pre matriculation checklist?

Did anyone interview for IU through the urban medicine program and get in for another IU campus and denied for the urban medicine program. I’m asking because I don’t want to get into the Urban Medicine Program lol but I do want to go to another IU campus and I was told that unfortunately, if I get into the UMP first, I wouldn’t get to go to another campus.

Any current IU students I could dm? I have a few questions. Preferably those at a branch campus especially Northwest campus would be very helpful.

Thanks!

I interviewed for UMP, haven’t heard back from them but was accepted to IU Regular Admissions.

I’m IS tho so.

Are there any IU students who know about the northeast Gary campus and how many people who interviewed for UMP got rejected from the UMP but accepted into the main campus? I really want to know if sending an email saying that I would like to not be considered for that campus but be considered for the main campus would be okay? I know there's a lot of risk in that but I have my reasons for preferring strongly against that campus, but I love all their other campuses.
Definitely a bad look. Why would you apply to the *Northwest* Gary campus if you strongly dislike the area? The whole point of the program is to learn about healthcare disparities in an very low-income area with a large amount of minority patients.

Does anyone know if there is a facebook page or groupme for accepted students? Thanks!
Here’s a group for accepted students so we can get to know each other!

Did anyone else who was accepted get the credentials to create a One.IU account?

I am confused since I had a previous account lol.
This will be my first one so I am just going to wait til tomorrow or the next day to try and log in since it seems like it wasnt working for me today!

Congrats to all that've been accepted! We've got a Discord created to use throughout this adventure. Can't wait to meet you at matriculation in the fall!

pre-II R 1/6 after an MSTP R 12/10. JFYI in case anyone's waiting to hear back pre-II still.

Hey everyone, I’m currently an MS1 at the Terre Haute campus (not in a concentration yet), so if anyone has any questions about student life or academics I’d be happy to answer them!

would you be able to provide info on your experience with the application timeline for rmep? i interviewed 11/3 and hoping to hear back this month but wasn't sure if rmep follows the same timeline as the main campus admissions!

Yea sure, I didn't apply nor am I in the RMEP, but I did ask around! The application timeline for RMEP is similar to normal admissions, so if you haven't heard anything back yet you're still in the running! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

thank you so much for taking the time to ask around 🙂 I will def reach out if I have any other questions about the terre houte campus!

Question.

In the packet IU sends after acceptance you have to fill out that form and send it back. In wording it said "I wish to matriculate in the fall" and you had to check the box. That is non-binding, correct? Just wondering because I also got an email saying "A recent audit has revealed that the Technical Standards for Indiana University School of Medicine have not yet been completed. Please login to the Applicant Portal to complete these requirements under the "Pre-Matriculation" tab."

Anyone have any idea of when decisions will be received this week?
All speculation here, but I would imagine that today (01/18) was the day they met to make this round of acceptances, since the 15th was a Saturday, and Monday was MLK day. I think there is a potential to hear something as early as tomorrow and likely until Friday or even early next week? I wonder if the early January interviewees have the potential to hear back, considering there are no December interviewees to review. Good luck to us all!

Best of luck! I'd recommend being as thorough as possible and really thinking about what their question is asking. They're going to ask you questions that you've prepared for and questions you've not. On the curveballs, take a couple seconds to think. I was nervous and felt rushed to say the first thing that popped in my head and looking back, I wish I would've reflected on the questions a bit more before answering.
