congrats on all the invites 🙂 r they by email?!

Those who got invites today, could you please share your stats.
Btw, I dont think they rank by name. What i have noticed from other schools makes me believe that they rank by MCAT and GPA, and then accept/reject high scoring students, then accept/reject low scoring students, and eventually focus on the middle. It seems to me the Rosalind Franklin does not follow the same trend though, because they started with the middle, but I highly doubt that they do it by alphabetical ranking.
Complete 8/17, my name is... Not sure if they are doing it by first name or last, it must be first if it's alpha order
Did I miss something? is there some reason we think it's going in some other order besides complete date?
i was told by an admissions representative here that applications are reviewed in ABC order!
can those of you with invites please tell us the initial of your first AND last name? if you dont feel comfortable doing so, can you just tell us if you are towards the beginning of the alphabet? thanks so much!
interesting secondary.. I wrote like 300 characters and I need a break already

I got small pooled as well haha. For those of you who received interviews, did you ever get an email about passing the first screen? Just wondering where I'm sitting right now. Thanks👍

did you receive a small pool email? I was complete here a long time ago and I have received anything. Is there a status page that lets you guys know this?
I received an email yesterday stating that I've been placed in the group from which they pick to interview.

they do email you, there is no status page as far as i know! but dont worry people who got interviews here didnt get small pooled so i dont know what to get out of that 😕
I am still not even complete. When did you send in your app?
well said!Hey Bizlove,
Enough with this nonsense. There is so much misinformation and disinformation about RFUMS and it is time to put an end to it. I am a pround M3 student at the chicago medical school. I had multiple acceptances but choose RFUMS because I was impressed with how well they preprate their students. It paid off as I did very well on the boards and so did the rest of my class. We do not know the average yet, but many of my friends got scores in the 250's and 260's. I am currently doing my clinical rotations and we are rotating with students from UIC, CCOM and other school. We are doing pretty darn good compared to other students. When you get to the wards you will notice that medicine is a team work. You will not find one student, one resident or one attending who knows it all, and everyone for the most part work together to teach each other. That is the beauty of this field. Now I am not sure who was the M4 you talked to, but I am pretty sure you will find bitter students at all medical schools. God knows I met few of them on rotations, so stop these stupid comments that higthen your ignorance about what we know and what we do not know.
Good luck to all of you who are appyling.
ok so I cannot post more than 2500 characters in the box while it says the max is 3000!!
If I open the pdf file in the browser by clicking on the SUpplemental Application link, then I can copy/paste by 2999 character text but if I save the .pdf file and open in Adobe Acrobat and then paste it in, I fit in only 2500 characters and the rest disappears .... wth.
What are you talking about? I don't think there was a character limit for the Rosalind Franklin application. There was just a box and you can fill many lines in it.
if you take your cursor onto the box, a pop up comes up showing the minimum and maximum limit of characters. My concern is this: I cannot post 3000 characters in that box.
Even though the boxes on the pdf look small they can fit about 2400-3000 characters in them because when you type/paste your response in them the font is much smaller than what you would expect.
My essays were closer to the upper limit. Hope this helps!
That is impossible. I filled the box in and copy pasted to word and counted the characters. They barely reach 2200. Smallness of the font is irrelevant to the characters being used, DUH.
That's not even close to true. Depending on WHICH characters you used to fill that box (e.g. m takes up a lot more space than i) it could be much closer to either end of the character limit. The character "limits" were a range that they suggested and by no means absolute, so everyone who has told you that whatever fits is the limit is correct. And, regardless, you can't readily modify the box so unless you want to jump through several program hoops you will just have to change your essay.
I have never seen character limits based on the character used. Inherent in the idea of character limits is the idea that one character regardless of the character used is still deemed one character (outside of a Kanji character in Japanese text, I'm not sure if that count as only one character).
It is advisable to copy your statement from word to notepad, then copy it from notepad to the essay box. This helps to eliminate code that could possibly add unseen characters. 😉

True, but they give you however big the box is, and suggest a range of characters that will fit in that area. If you type however many lines of "iiii" it'll fit a lot more characters in than "mmm". It's not based on the # of characters (otherwise they'd just give the upper limit of 3000 characters, not 2400-3000).
I think the best way to make sure it fits is to type it directly into the box. But I wouldn't like that either.
They have a space limit, not a character limit, so if you use a font which does not have every character occupying the same amount of space, then depending on which characters you use a lot, you'll get different character limits.
