hopefully there are more open spots. but one thing you have to remember is that there will probably be about 30-40 spots that will be given to BMS students. also dont forget about the people on hold since October upto now. :scared:

Rejected this morning too after being small-pooled forever ago...

Sorry to hear about all the rejections. I wish you guys the best. Is it fair to say that the rejections we've heard about today are pre-interview? It seems like they are letting go of people who have been in the small pool for a while.
 
yea, ditto to the guys who heard the sour news today, I really hope you've gotten some better signs from other places you've applied. This whole thing is nerveracking, so I can really sympathize. Good luck to everyone as we battle it out over the next month/couple of months...:xf::xf::xf:
 
so i am still in small pool and didnt get a rejection, is that a good thing or does that just mean my rejection will get here a little later?

I hope so too! I am never amazed by the randomness of this process. Complete Oct. 15th and small pooled Dec. 1. No news since. I wonder why they can't send all the rejections at the same time? 😕

Hey. Sorry for the late post, been busy...

Last interview in April is the 27th, yesterday.

Last three interview dates this year are May 3, 4, 10.

Thanks a lot for responding. Helps a lot. Please feel free to comment about yesterday's rejections and the people who are still small-pooled but have not received an interview invitation yet.
 
On the bright side I just got an acceptance from Ponce Medical School in Puerto Rico! A licensed US LCME school. So I will be a doctor!!!

Hey everyone,
I interviewed April 6th and I am going CRAZY here waiting to hear back.
How long does it usually take to hear back the first time????
I keep checking my email every 30 seconds which is REALLY not productive and I should be studying right now.

Congrats NEWHER! Glad something pulled through for you! Ponce wants a 1,000 non-refund. deposit and I'm still on the waitlist at GW my top choice (I live in DC). Poop. But I'll be a (blingual) US doctor and PR is closer to home than the Israeli program I got into!
 
Pre-interview reject letter came today (5:45PM) after swimming then drowning in the small pool since Jan. 12. Definitely not heart broken.

i really hope we all hear some positive news soon for those that havent heard anything for a month or so
 
I believe they sent out some acceptances today.

i almost thought we were not gonna hear anything this month.

I hope to get an email soon. Last month they sent out emails

over the course of 2 days. I seemed like the ppl that interviewed that month

heard decisions the first day. And it seemed like everyone that was

just updated with holds heard the second day. Good luck to all

hope we all hear something today and do not have to wait until monday.
 
blach, on hold again! 4th post-interview hold email, kinda painful, but I guess it could be worse....well, either way, looks like we'll here one more "update" within another 15 days.....

maybe they have no more spots left so they have to have everybody be on hold until may 15th when some more open up?

Its pretty depressing that they have the mentality according to which they invited me from Canada to interview just for the hold position or rejection? You see, I do not make that kind of money yet?

maybe. seems like there aren't any acceptances today... hopefully more people that withdraw could open more spots. if you guys are already accepted to some schools, congrats on the acceptances... if your still on the hold list, keep praying!!!

Your decision to go of course. I don't think they hand picked you to interview to go on the hold or reject list. Obviously you had, and still have a shot at getting in.

If you think the expense is bad for you, think about those flying from Hawaii to the mainland for each interview with unknown chances.

Well I understand. But if they had told me in the email that "you will be interviewing for a hold spot or a rejection" then I think I probably would not have traveled because I know what it means for an international student to interview for a hold (almost nil chances of getting in)? So I do not see it as a mistake on my part. And I could have done a bit better on midterms by giving that time to study?

Anyways. Thanks to them for raising the hopes high (without telling me that the class is full or almost full and that i'll be interviewing for the hold spot) and then shattering them. Well, lets see now if I get accepted off the hold list.

Just got placed on hold here as well after interviewing last week.

I kinda assumed it would probably be interviewing for a hold spot.

Currently "on hold" or "waitlisted" at three places. Guess I'll hear back more post May 15th. Waiting sucks.
 
Just got pre-interview rejected. Wasn't considering going here after I got into my state school but its always nice to be wanted... 🙄
 
Pre-interview rejection. Wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't drowning in the small pool since December. 😡

I don't know why they gave out so many holds this year. Hopefully, people who do not want to go here will withdraw and more spots will open up. Also, someone mentioned that the BMS students didn't get an acceptance yet, and they take about 40 seats. i dont know how many people this year will get off the hold list.

It is very unlikely they interviewed you for a hold spot. They most probably interviewed you for a real spot. These people are busy and probably wouldn't waste there time interviewing for hold spots. Furthermore, if this you felt this was the case, you should have called or emailed before the interview inquiring as to whether they were interviewing for real spots or not.
 
Can we try to ask them our rank on the Hold List? They also mentioned in the email that they will send a "letter" to update us regarding our status? Thats a bit old school, no?
