Ah nice. Congrats. Hold for me....situation looks bleak right now

+1 . So I assume this late in the season Hold really means Waitlist? I haven't seen any post-interview rejections so I'm assuming the Hold group is pretty big.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if we hear anything before mid-May (I also got the hold e-mail this afternoon).

we're still okay. we have each other right? =]

does anyone know if there is a class of 2016 facebook group? 😉

Just received an II but will decline... The available dates are April 16th and April 23rd

thanks for the post green grass! does anyone know if the new grading system will be executed starting fall '12 or is it still under question?
Pass/Fail will probably not start this fall, but maybe the year after

does anyone know if they are still offering interviews? Has anyone in the past app cycle received an invite during the first week of April?

I called the admissions office yesterday and asked the same question... the woman I spoke to said they will be sending out interview invites through mid-April. I guess there is still some hope for us in the pool :xf:

Interview Invite here.
3.86, 32N, OOS

Wow, late in the game. Anyone know if they are just interviewing for the waitlist or are there seats open still?

I'm trying to figure out the fin aid for this school because it seems odd that their institutional aid form isn't due until June 29. Am I interpreting it correctly, then, that the cost is the cost and there's no sort of scholarship money available? So in making the decision of which school to attend, there's no use waiting for an award notification because the "award" will just be loans for the full cost of attendance? Thanks!

There is some scholarship money available - they do take need into account, and it tends not to be *that* much when you consider the cost of private medical school education. That said, any money that you don't have to pay back is a bonus, and I don't think that our financial aid situation is much different from other private schools - Northwestern, for example, is about $72K.

So are they done sending out interview invites? Not sure if I should assume a silent rejection yet.

this is what i got from the office, strangely, i wasn't sure if this meant that i should give up or not.

"The interview dates are at this point mostly filled. Our office is in the process of sending out final communication to all applicants. This will be done over the next few weeks. If you should have additional questions about the process, please contact us by email, [email protected].

If you should have any other questions, please feel free to contact our office."

When did you get this? I haven't heard anything from them...

yesterday. I sent them an email. Someone analyze the intended nuance of this email content please 🙂

Just withdrew my spot...hope someone gets accepted soon!!

Is there an application for the scholarship..or is just based on the need/grades/score?

Do you know if we really have to wait until June to find out about loan awards???

I took American Taxi (suggested on the trip planned they sent out) and they were great.

There was not an application for the scholarship - all of my scholarships have been need-based. As far as waiting until June, I'm not sure how they're doing it now. It wasn't really an issue for me - I'd suggest calling and asking about when you'll find out what your award package is. I do know that there are some lucky souls who got very nice scholarship packages during their M1 years... it just wasn't me:laugh:

I called the fin aid office today because I was confused about this June deadline and their fin aid process overall. Knowing that at most schools, fin aid award letters come out early to mid-April, I've been holding onto my spot so I can compare cost at several schools. I was told there is no "award" letter to wait for like at other schools because there are no scholarships - the cost is the cost, so filling out the "new borrower application" (their "institutional aid" form due in June) is simply to apply for your loans for the full cost of attendance. I specifically asked if there were any scholarships, and I was told "no."

This is the gist I got during the interview day and when I called about finaid few months ago. I believe majority of us if not all can expect to pay full price unless you receive something outside of the university. Its 1700 max for living cost, and the tuition, fees, books supplies.

any guesses on when the next committee meeting is/when the next acceptances are going to be sent out for people who interviews early april?

Finally got my pre-interview rejection. Thank you very much.

is there any more interview invites left? 😛

How did the decision come? Sigh.. still haven't gotten mine..

Email. Several schools have sent me rejection letters through the mail, though. They must think it's more proper and classy, but really, I wish they'd stick to email and save some trees.

well, finally got my email rejection for "the class of 2015"... dang, too bad bc I was really hoping to jump into the sophomore class and finish my medical degree in 3 years. Still waiting to hear about the class of 2016, however.

Damn, me too.

at least this school had the courtesy to let us know we'd been rejected.. ahem drexel, loyola...

Same here.

Its nice to know that they put a lot of thought and effort into this heartfelt rejection letter....
