2015-2016 Saint Louis University Application Thread

Does that reflect badly on the school?
Not necessarily. They still have above average acceptance stats. I think it is just because a lot of people apply to it as an out of state option since it is private, but once they get into a good state school, they opt for that option. That's my theory at least.

Cool! I hope so, I got a great feeling from this school on interview day.

Definitely. That said, I would probably take SLU over any of my state schools.

10 years and $350, 000 in interest accrual later you may eat these words.

My state schools aren't much cheaper unfortunately. And yeah I will be weighing financial considerations if I get the luxury of multiple acceptances

Current student. Absolutely love this school, my fellow students, faculty. Most helpful, smart, talented group of people I have ever met.

I've been getting a lot of PMs about my previous interview experiences and thought that I would just post here so people don't have to read through past years' thread to find me.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have about the school, interview, etc.

mind if i ask when u got II last year?

It wasn't last year - 2012/2013 cycle. No major differences between then and now (although I was finishing my PhD at that time), except for writing the new MCAT (522) vs old (33). My II was 12/17 that year.

thank you i was trying to get an insight on a general time frame for the II if i would get one

Could anyone explain how to go about requesting to stay with a student host before the interview? Thanks in advance!

Those of you that interviewed, did you have something in common with your interviewer?
That seems to be the general theme in this thread, but I can't seem to find anything on my own interviewer that I relate to.

Thanks!

Both female and nice people (I like to think)

But other than that, no

Should be a link in your II packet? If not then courteously ask some secretarial-type person that has emailed you. I highly recommend student host.

Yeah there should be an option somewhere in the interview tab I think. I was going to do it but they actualyl charge for this school ~$25 if I remember correctly

Does anyone have any idea how they go through apps here? I was complete in mid-July and haven't heard much of anything other than my application is under review (via a stand-alone automated email and a personal reply to an email asking about status). I figure it doesn't take 2 months to read my app so I'm just wondering if anyone has insight on what may be happening right now?

Like do they put people aside for later? Do they interview certain demographics (I'm ORM), GPA ranges, MCAT ranges, etc earlier on? Just curious and wondering. Thanks!

EDIT: yes, I realize this IS the million-dollar question we all have haha

I have a dumb question. Most likely no one knows the answer, but... I interviewed on 9/28, do you think there's any chance I'll hear back on Thursday or Friday?

I interviewed on 9/21 and we were told "Oct 15th or later". Haha, very vague

Someone from last year got an acceptance on 10/20 after interviewing on 9/30. So there's hope!

The horrible thing is I can't exactly remember what they told us on 9/15. My brain wants me to believe they said we absolutely will hear on the 15th, but I just can't remember 🙁

I think you will hear back today if you interviewed on the 15th. I did my interview on the 29th so I guess I have to wait a few more days

Interviewed 9/29 so I probably won't find out today but I'm freaking out anyways. I just want to know!!!
