ok, how is that relevant to this thread tho? Just because you think one way and others think a different way doesn't mean you have to throw that opinion down on a page dedicated to talking about Emory

It's okay. This is a wonderful country where he is entitled to his opinion. Medicine is definitely a field for the idealistic and the bleeding hearts. Until you're sitting at the white coat ceremony, it basically is every human for themselves in this process. Than we play nice if there is no ranking in medical school.

If it is not immediately obvious, I have a sales background. Thick skin is a part of doing my job 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week. I'm not bothered by his comment, so don't feel like you need to stand up for any social justice Limeyguydr.

Idealists and bleeding hearts have their place. My place is more on the business aspect of medicine where my mindset is the norm based on who I have met through work. I'm sorry you don't like it, but people like me will be dealing with the logistics of running hospitals. Nothing personal, RJ, its just business.

Don’t knock the need for business management excellence in healthcare. With all the changes in medicine already, and those expected, nearly every physician whether private practice, or working for a healthsystem, is already under increasing business management and making business decisions in their daily practice of medicine.

Anyone know the Post-interview acceptance rate for OOS? My MSAR expired and funds are tight lol
 
Anyone else's still say "your application is ready"? I'd say I was complete end of August for reference.

also, could anyone who has interviewed say more about the interview day? what was the structure of the day (interviews in the morning or afternoon)? and how was the group interview? thank you!! 🙂

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Emory was one of the schools that doesn't send any of its Rs until like March/the very end of the cycle? I've personally been approaching this school with the mindset of "assume you're rejected until you hear otherwise"

??? Not sure what you are talking about. They have sent out ii's and have been interviewing since September.

ETA: you yourself even replied "congratulations" to someone who got an interview invite here in September. LOL

There is no social thing the night before the interview as far as I know.

You are correct. They state on their website that they do not reject any applicants until after the interview cycle is complete.
 
Not interviewing here or anything but I'm just wondering if it takes a long time to get around Atlanta airport given that it is the busiest airport in the country (let's say...your connecting flight is at the opposite end of the airport)

They have a fast train thing that takes you btwn terminals. It's busy but easy to get around quickly

ATL airport is VERY easy to navigate. They have a plane train that takes you between all of the terminals.Makes it very easy to go to other terminals to eat
 
Yeah, Atlanta native here that's taken many a flight out Hartsfield-Jackson and I second that it's not difficult to navigate. Definitely easier than many I've been to.

I have a 30 minute layover...so I’m wondering if that’s enough for such a large airport. Especially if I don’t sit in the front of the plane and it literally takes 15 mins to get off the plane

no - a 30 minute layover isn't enough. The plane boards 30 minutes before take-off so you need to subtract 30 minutes from the departure time to find out how long you need

I've done it in 22 minutes once while traveling with my parents and we literally ran and we almost missed the flight. I'd suggest 45 mins min. If you change concourses, you have to ride down and escalator that you cannot pass people on, get onto a sub like tram to get to your gate, go back up the escalator (about 50 steps so its' a good 100 feet if not 200 feet long) then race down the concourse to our gate and hope it hasn't taken off yet. Airlines worry about their on time arrivals so they will gladly leave you behind if you can't get to the gate in time.
