I called a while back about that because I was in the same position and they said that if you have interviewed and everything on your portal is marked off then you are ready to be reviewed. It's just a matter of the admissions committee manually going in and checking you off on their end for you to get the email. That being said, even if youre application is ready to review they said some applications will not be looked at this committee meeting because they need to get to SCP students first. Hope that helps with the confusion!
 
Interviewed on 9/11 and didn't get the "application complete" notification until 10/2. No changes or notifications thus far.

Just so everyone is aware, the SCP stuff is basically new this year so things may be a bit off compared to last year. Also, they usually snail mail acceptances on the 15th of every month but that's not always the case. Going through the process last year, people mostly received acceptances the 17th-20th of each month, with a few exceptions. I think there was one time when they mailed out on like the 13th or something.

Also, if you interview in, let's say September, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll necessarily be reviewed for the October acceptances. Post-interview rejections occurred after waitlist notifications which was in May so, no news is good news in that regard. IU is the largest M.D. program in the country so just be aware that they may be a bit slower than other schools.

If anyone has questions, I'd be happy to help. I was on the waitlist last year but wasn't extended an acceptance so I'll try to help as best as I can.
 
Got email saying my app is complete and ready to go to adcom. Interviewed 10/2. Hopefully I am not waiting too long for a decision

Where you a SCP applicant? I also interviewed on 10/2 but I am a general applicant and have not gotten that email
 
For those of you who interviewed in September and early October, what does the status of your graduate application say?
 
To my fellow post-II neurotics, sign up for USPS Informed Delivery if you haven't already. They email you with scanned images of any letters/packages you have coming in the mail, usually about 2-3 days before they're in your mailbox. It's the closest you can get to an email acceptance here at IU (lol).

I interviewed in October so won't be hearing back until November or later anyways, but wanted to help some of you earlier folks out.

For those asking, my portal just updated! (Letter came Friday.) An admissions decision tab populated with all the acceptance info.
 
Anybody else interview on 9/11 and not receive a "application complete and ready to undergo review" email? Starting to wonder if it's a bad sign since other 9/11 interviews have already heard decisions.

I'm in the same boat! I know I called and they said they have to audit the application after everything is received, which may have made us miss the day to be reviewed for this month
 
Got an Interview Invite today! Just to make sure, I have to mail (not e-mail) the Legal Disclosure form to them, and my school has to mail the Evaluation form to them?

The Legal Disclosure can be uploaded on the portal, but yeah your school has to mail the Dean's Evaluation.
 
When would it be acceptable to send a letter of intent/update letter if youre applying to the SCP?

They mentioned that all SCP applicants would have their final decisions by December so adding a LOI then might be too late. They did mention that these concentrations are open to medical students who didn’t initially apply for them so if you get accepted general admissions I’m sure there’s still some type of opportunity! @medcid

Ahh okay then yeah thats deff too late... Maybe before Nov 15th!
 
I just received an acceptance yesterday since I checked the portal and it indicated that I received an offer. I interviewed 9/11/2019. Will I still get a letter in the mail or does the portal serve as the notification?

I've heard that it really depends. For some reason, your application might just not have made it to the AdCom in time for the 10/15 decisions. I also interviewed on 9/11 but my portal only showed my acceptance yesterday (10/22). PM me if you have any questions!

Have you received a letter in the mail yet? I have not and I'm just a little worried.
