I’m interviewing at Terre Haute this week, and my actual interview is scheduled for 2 PM. Can someone tell me if this means I can check in at the “Afternoon check in” time rather the morning check in time because of my afternoon interview? Thanks for the help!

You are the afternoon check in

You are the afternoon check in
i was morning interview morning check in. A girl showed up for morning check in even though her interview was in the afternoon and then she just had to sit there and wait for 6 hours. Definitely wait until the afternoon check in

Any IU undergrads get the "application complete" email but still have an application status in the student center that says application missing materials?

@es123 i do! Not an IU grad, but took IU classes/was accepted so I have access to the portal. I’m wondering if that will update.

oh you were already accepted and it still says that?? guess that means I won't find out via that application status any sooner than a letter would come in the mail.....darn

Hi all,

Re-applicant. Last year, I applied early August and verified end of August with hold pending receipt of MCAT in September (OOS, URM). Score release October (<500) and interview invite sent that same week. Interview date sent Late October for Mid January 2019. Ghosted until April and got an R.

This year - Received feedback on my app after the R and advised to retake MCAT but submit app as early as possible. This cycle I submitted mid July and verified early August. MCAT in Sept with score release early Oct. CASPer late sept with score release to other schools by mid October. I called IU two weeks ago to see where I’m at but didn’t get much insight.

TLDR: I’m re-applicant and would like to know if anyone is on the same boat because I feel news is extra delayed this year. Thank you all and best of luck!

@es123 i should’ve clarified better! No I have not been accepted, am still awaiting a decision. But I did receive an application complete/ready to go to adcoms email, but my one iu portal still says missing materials.

Ooooooook, so maybe it will still update early. I’m considering emailing and asking.....I’ll keep ya posted if I do

Interviewed 10/9
Just received the email that my application was complete and ready to go before the admissions committee

Does anyone knows if it matters how soon after acceptance we submit our campus ranking? Or is the timing irrelevant as long as it's before April?

Just got my II date assigned to for 11/6 in Gary, Indiana. I applied through the PPP for the SCP at South Bend... anyone know how to find out what I'm interviewing for?

edit: jk just read the last page - looks like I was deferred to regular admissions
Sorry to reply to a month old comment, but can you tell me a little about what interview day was like in Gary? I'm interviewing there next week!

I cancelled my interview and withdrew from Indiana, sorry!

Does anyone how I should go about sending a thank you note?

I forgot to ask the interviewers for their email, but I also heard that admissions offices usually don't want thank you notes sent to interviewers' individual emails.

Could someone who has already interviewed/has a date set clarify how long it takes to get an interview date and location confirmed after the initial II email is sent? Not sure when it's appropriate to start emailing and asking..

I’ve interviewed already but the whole date thing is straight random. Mine took 2months to get.

If my interview is at 11 am I would check-in during the morning check-in time of 8:15 am right? Also, the address listed on the Interview tab of the applicant portal is the location I would report to? The different campus thing is tripping me up.
I checked in at 10:45am for an 11am interview, had no issues. The day was somewhat less organized than a typical interview day so if you check in at 8:15am you’ll likely end up waiting around for a while, can’t hurt to be early though.

If you show up at 8:30 you will have nothing to do until your interview. I also had an 11am interview FYI. I would either check in late around 10:45 or bring your laptop to keep yourself occupied for a couple hours

@Developer @cabbagefacts1 Hold up, are you talking about interviewing at the main Indy campus or regional campuses? I interviewed at Indy and there were presentations and Q+A sessions with med students in between the listed check-in time and my actual interview, so we didn't have long stretches of down-time at all.

@fadelgadMD imo It might be best to just shoot admissions an email or phone call and clarify.

My invite showed an address in Indy and that's is were I had to go. If you had a regional campus they would specify it (at least for my SCP interview invite it was very clear were they wanted me).

Does anyone remember when their letters of rec & pre-reqs got checked off on the portal? It seems like a few people mentioned pre-reqs not being processed until after interviewing, but what about letters? Thank you!

I’m pretty sure my letters were one of the first things checked off afterward, if not before the interview. If you’ve already interviewed and they’ve been in for a while, it might be worth reaching out to make sure they do actually have them.

Oh right, forgot to include that I was indeed at a regional campus (non-SCP).

to withdraw my application, do you just email them that you wish to do so?

That seems to be what people did last year so it probably still holds. If you don't get a response, give them a call - the people at the front office are super nice.

Awesome, thanks!

Did anyone who got accepted in October find out on the 15th or did it take a few days to get the letter/for the portal to update?

I remember them saying at the interview that they send out acceptances only by mail starting on the 15th. So it all depends on how long it takes for letters to mail. My bet is Tuesday next week, the next round of acceptances will reach people

UPDATE: FINALLY GOT MY INTERVIEW INVITE!!!

Interviewed last Wednesday, notification today saying "Your application is now complete and ready to go before the admissions committee." Is it wishful thinking that this is conspicuously timed right before this month's committee meeting?

Update: I had my dates mixed up, apparently they do NOT meet today.
Also, I wanted to add that despite getting that email, my portal still says incomplete. My prereqs has a red X, but unclear why. Assuming it is something they haven't gotten around to changing!

I thought they already met for the month of November?

Does the committee send wl and Rs the same time they send out As or do you just get ghosted?

Was “your app has been forwarded to the committee” an email or just a portal change?

I think the committee will meet tomorrow, the 15th. They may or may not get to applications that interviewed in November.

When I interviewed last month, the lady who led the informational session told us that the committee meets near the end of the month/very beginning of the following month, and that letters are mailed on the 15th.

I see. I must’ve mixed up the information at the interview day! Thanks for the correction!

I’m confused. Does the committee meet today and send the acceptances out the same day or did they meet up earlier and sent the acceptances out today?

The committee does not meet today. They meet at the end of the month/the very beginning of the month and then send their decisions out on the 15th.

Where can I see whether my app is under consideration or not on the portal?

Thank you. That makes a lot more sense now. I got the “application complete” email a week from yesterday so I probably would hear back in December at the earliest then right?
