2019-2020 Stanford

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
+1 hit with the R, complete 7/18. Stanford was one of my top choices in CA so definitely a bummer. At least decisions are coming fairly early so there is no false hope
+2 but I ain’t even mad. Knew it was a long shot and I got my first A this weekend anyway.

Stanford doesn’t like updates *until* after you interview. When you interview they will be very clear on when they want updates and what kind of updates they consider significant

Is this also the case for the MSTP? I was complete in mid-July and am still waiting to hear back :/

You can email the mstp admissions team and double check but I'm fairly confident they have the same policy.

Alright...now that the dust has settled...

In an attempt to gain a larger data set for next year so that we can speak with more certainty on the timeline...

Did any KH applicants get the R?

To gain a larger data set... not for any personal..., errr I mean not so I can know for my situation... or anything like that....

I'm applying KH and I didn't get an R but I submitted in August so that might have something to do with it

don't you have to submit KH first before you submit your secondary?
Turns out no, you could just plug in the KH application number into the secondary and submit the secondary before KH.

nice username! Did you submit your secondary on 9/18 or was that just when you were compete?
Complete usually means when the secondary was submitted and all letters of reference were received. People will say "verified" if they're only referring to the primary application.

Thanks! It's been mood all year, haha.

I just re-checked the portal. Secondary submitted on 9/15 (not 9/18, I must've copied down the wrong date in excel) and my app was fully complete by 9/23.

I legit want to just know the timeline lol Thus far my suspicions of delayed processing seem plausible
Removed? Memelord? Patrick? But why?? Whhat will we do? Who will provide snarky responses and odes of intent to the lurking admissions officers?

Wait...
Memelord has been banned?!?
What happened?
Say it ain’t so!!

I was being sarcastic, lol. Is he OK? Anyone know what happened?

He is like the Mayor of SDN...

I have to say I am disappointed that he got banned. Sure, sometimes he has the center-of-the-universe way of speaking but I don't think he was doing it with bad intention.

If he's still lurking: I liked how he recognized that one shouldn't lower their own goals simply because "others have it worse than you", and that even "successful" applicants have a valid reason to feel sad or complain. You legit cannot find this mindset on Reddit or most premedical students. And beyond that though, he was a pretty empathetic guy in general.

EDIT: To answer your question, I think he had an argument with a mod lol

I agree
But why was he banned?
I didn’t see anything that would warrant that? Unless of course Big Brother deleted it...

Random question as I now look closer at the ORCID webpage. Did you guys enter JUST published papers? Or abstracts that were presented at conferences (either orally or as posters) too?
