Does anyone know when they are done sending out II/when the final interview date is here?
I believe they interview through February but I don't know the exact date the final interview will be

How many days in advance of the interview did you guys get the email to register for the SJT?

Any other Idaho applicants that have interviewed and been accepted?

I suspect some calls will be made soon so this post made my heart sink 😆

I realize that my post made it sound like I had been accepted. I haven't yet but I think I've only seen one Idaho applicant on here so far that has been accepted!

There are currently 61 members in the FB group, 1 of which is Dr. Chan and 1 that is an admin, presumably an M2.

Hope that helps!

You're from Idaho right? How much time passed between your interview and your acceptance call?

Has anyone heard anything as of late? Interviewed Nov. 25th and haven’t heard anything. I’m sure winter break threw things off so I’m hopeful! 🙂

Interviewed early December and they told us "mid-January" would be the soonest we could hear from Dr. Chan. I assume that means Ad Com met sometime this week and will be letting us know next week, since we haven't seen any acceptance updates on here.

I interviewed Dec. 9 and haven't heard anything back either.

Got the call from Dr. Chan today! I was most definitely crying on the phone. For the record, primary was submitted June 1st secondary October 10th, Interviewed December 9th, Accepted January 17th.

Whoa! He called on a Saturday? Or did he call yesterday? CONGRATS THOUGH!!! 🙂 That’s awesome! Are you IS or OOS?

That is awesome, congratulations!! IS/OOS/Idaho?

I assume that means we've all been looked over at least once and passed by if we haven't heard yet. Hang in there everybody!

Congratulations! Yeah when did he call and are you IS/Idaho/OOS/OOS with ties??

Congrats, that's so great! We actually interviewed the same day. Along with everyone else's question about IS/OOS/Idaho, do you mind sharing your stats?

Has anyone heard about whether or not the U accepts updates post-interview?

I actually tried because my GPA went up, and they said that my application is too far in the review process to be changed (meaning I was probably ranked already) how long ago was your interview?

I interviewed mid-december, so not too long ago.

Call came in Friday (17th) haha I made the post on Saturday. Too overwhelmed to do much else on that Friday. I grew up in Idaho, went to the U for undergrad but am living in Boston so I applied OOS

For those who asked, here are my stats

MCAT: 508
cGPA 3.68
sGPA: 3.17
Grad GPA: 3.40

Re-applicant, non-traditional. Best part of phone call was Dr. Chan saying we "liked your story and loved reading about your grit and resilience". This being my second time applying, it was absolutely validating hearing him say that.

Congrats!! Hopefully this means end of December interviewees will hear back soon!

So you are a Boston resident or an Idaho resident? Sorry for asking again, but as an Idaho applicant I would love to know how many Idaho acceptances they have already extended since they only accept 10 of the 40 interviewed!

Unfortunately, according to this description they are OOS with ties to Utah. (Same here, and there are only 10 of these spots.)

I applied as a Boston Resident!

For those of you who have received acceptance calls, what time of the day did he call you?

AFAIK he calls in the morning. Not sure what time but I'm sure it's not horribly early or by afternoon.

Hi all! I've been stalking last year's acceptance thread and fattypanda94 posted this about the admission process:

"From my understanding, schools put applicants through multiple rounds pre II. They basically give you a grade. So for example round 1: 90% GPA and MCAT and 10% everything else. Round 2: 70/30. Round 3: 50/50. Round 4: 40/60. Round 5 : Get II. Rouns 6: Acceptance. The U does 30/70. In each round, the bottom will get rejected. The top will move on. The middle stay in the round. It’s dynamic, meaning depending on the strength of the pool in the round, you may stay, get rejected, or move on. Its important to remember that getting accepted is like a round. I was accepted to the U 2 weeks after I interviewed. Some people I know where accepted a month after, others in March. "

I don't know if that's how it still works, but it makes sense as to why some people hear back fairly quickly and the rest of us are in waiting purgatory. I don't know if they have really sent any post II rejections though? I am going to be so gutted to wait 6 months and receive a rejection :/

I know SDN dosen’t tell the full story, but I haven’t seen many (if any at all) who interviewed early on get acceptances past January? I feel like most who are waiting until March are in the group of WL or rejection. I could be wrong. I hope so seeing as I interviewed in September and it’s been a long four months haha.

I have the same feelings. All of last year's acceptances in January were following December interviews, not earlier ones... Plus, on last year's thread basically every single person who got a decision in March on SDN was rejected or waitlisted. I know the class is only about half full (via an earlier post about the FB group) but I still have a bad feeling for us early interviewers

I’m a re-applicant to the U (last year I only applied to the U—no other school—and obviously got rejected on March 15). I knew several people last year who had an acceptance at the U but had never joined the Facebook group. So likely, there are more acceptances that have been sent out than what has been reported.

I interviewed in September as well and I’m thinking my chances are shot. They claim to send out so many acceptances in March but there were very few last year (I remember hearing of one). Almost everyone in March was rejected or waitlisted (at least that’s what it seemed like—I could be wrong).

But for anyone who isn’t too hopeful or who eventually gets the R, please don’t get down on yourself like I did last year. The process is just so random. The U is a good school, but I have known several people who have been rejected at the U after being accepted too other more highly competitive programs (Ivy’s). A rejection letter shouldn’t be applied to self-worth—there are too many other variables at play.

Yeah, it’s so interesting that I hear all the time “2/3 of acceptances are sent in March,” but that seems wayyy off to me.
I’m trying not to be to hard on myself but I’m not very good at it haha.
I just wish they wouldn’t make us wait until March for the rejection, put me out of my misery already 🤣

I thought this same thing, so I asked current students at my interview and they all said a majority of their class was accepted in March, so don't give up hope!

Aw man, don't get my hopes up like that 😢 but you're right, thanks for the positivity! It's too early to be devastated when we don't know for sure. I feel for you Koster35, that must have been awful. I will be so heartbroken (IS and UU alum, very close to my family) to be rejected but I'm extremely grateful to have an acceptance to a DO school and I'm trying (not really succeeding but trying) not to fixate on this
