2019-2020 Utah

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was OS, no affiliation with Utah/Idaho and interviewed in beginning of Feb, they said the class is full so I am no longer under consideration lol

I was literally just about to post “well, it’s pass 5, looks like there won’t be any more calls today!” Haha
Who knows, she could have been one of the last ones of the day! I am trying to go with it that they're done and maybe I can relax tonight
You’re killing me. But filling me with hope. I don’t even know how to feel anymore. :help:
I am dying inside, let's get through the next couple of days though. Jeez this feels like how I felt the morning of the MCAT but for 2 days straight

First post but I've followed 🙂. Interviewed Nov 1, IS. Email today titled "Application Status" says: "The University of Utah School of Medicine Office of Admissions and Admissions Committee have completed their selection of the Incoming Class of 2020. Unfortunately, your application is no longer under active consideration."

I suppose 'no longer under active consideration' means 'you're rejected but maybe we'll reconsider you in case of highly extreme circumstances', lol... Happy to move forward with my life planning, and good luck y'all! Thanks for providing useful info and commiseration on the forum.

right? You guys are awesome! I'm hoping for the best, at least one of us had better get in!
I’m rooting for all of you. Party at my house for the one or two of us that get in! And if none of us get in...then we can throw a party to get over our woes! Unless, of course, COVID shuts that down as well. :/

Wow, still nothing... I'm wondering if they will postpone decisions because of COVID? The U of U said they will be closing classes (at least for undergrad, I don't know about the school of medicine) and continuing with online classes when they get back from break.

My brother is an M3 here. His actual classes/meetings are cancelled but he still has to go to the hospital for rotations.

I wondered the same thing, this seems likely. Very strange for no one to hear anything by now.

I hope not. If that was the case though, wouldn't they have postponed yesterday's as well?

Will they still be sending out decisions today? Oh well. It is what it is. I had pretty much given up hope until I saw people on here posting their acceptances. My stomach is just in knots, lol. My family really needs this

i didn’t ask about decisions because I figured they probably wouldn’t have an answer on that, sorry! Hang in there!!

We just got an email that the Second Look day was canceled. Maybe the meeting was about that.

Alright. Well, watch the emails come out in 5 minutes right after I post this, but I don’t think it’s happening today. Maybe tomorrow, but at this rate I think we could be waiting until Monday.

So we don’t think any decisions went out today right? That’s nuts, usually once they start they go for a few days don’t they?

Last year they did, I wonder if when they said "decisions won't be delayed" if they are still planning to have them done by the 15th... If so the next three days they're gonna have big work to do, because last year they sent stuff out on Tuesday and Thursday and we didn't get that luxury. They will have to play catch-up if they keep their promise :0

I would not be surprised to see the classic “this doesn’t mean you’re not going to be a great doctor” post from Dr. Chan in the morning tomorrow followed by the rest of the decisions being sent out.

Likely just too busy today with COVID-19 discussions. We will see!
