Last cycle, were you placed on hold first or did you directly get the message about your interview invite

Don't think I was ever on hold. From last years thread, most people who got IIs who were on hold received them later in the cycle.

I checked my portal this morning and this is the message: Your file has been reviewed and by the beginning of August you will receive a formal invitation by email about how to schedule a virtual interview. Until the time the formal invitation is sent, there is nothing additional you must do.

I've gotten the informal invite but have not yet received the formal invite. Is anyone who got the informal invite experiencing the same thing? I assume they'll be staggering the emails, but wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Also did your informal message change to something else after receiving the formal invite?

I'll take it as a good sign then that I am "on hold". It means that I haven't been eliminated outright from the application process. I imagine they probably cut out people whose GPA or MCAT didn't make the cutoff or those with serious IA's etc...

I got put on "hold for re-review at a later date". I'm an out of state ORM from California. 520 MCAT and 3.97 GPA with a lot of clinical hours including about 180 serving underserved communities. I expressed my interested in GW since they heavily integrate public health and health policy into their curriculum. I talked about my goal of addressing obesity and diabetes and other major health concerns as a physician.

That's a good point. But really as long as it's not a rejection, that means you're still in the running at this point.

This is why I thought that a hold was similar to a rejection. Some schools (ex. WVU) seem to send rejections early and often, along with waitlist/holds. However, I haven’t seen evidence suggesting that GWU does the same.

Hey everyone, quick question! I submitted my primary in early June and was verified in July but still haven't received a secondary from GW. They're the only school to not send me one. Is anyone else in the same position or know why they haven't as yet? Kind of worried because it's already august

I would give them a call and double-check that it was not sent. Do you have a spam inbox that auto-deletes after a certain amount of days? This happened to a friend of mine.

Thank you so much!! I think it was directly to the interview. I hadn’t checked since last Thursday I believe but it just kept telling me I was complete with no other change so I hadn’t looked since then.

complete 7/15 well probably but it kinds of feel like being placed on hold means waitlist for interviews
