Are they even sending out interviews any more?
😫😫😫I don't know.
I interviewed in January and felt like I did ok but not great. I was incredibly nervous and definitely stumbled over my words. I didn't send thank you emails because I was so nervous I forgot to write down names. I emailed the med admissions asking for email addresses but got no response, which is fine as I'm sure they are incredibly busy. I also attended the research symposium they had.
Is that a big deal? I have no idea. Am I overanalyzing everything right now? Yes.

Check out the Admissions Process part of their website. They be updating the timeline on that pageAre they even sending out interviews any more?
Ok just checked and it says that interviews are send out Nov - March. So I mean I guess I still have a chance 😭Check out the Admissions Process part of their website. They be updating the timeline on that page
Unless they are waiting until 3/15 to send more out, they probably will. Are they going to send more A's by 3/15/2023? 🙁
I hope so. I'm literally checking my email and SDN for any updates constantly. Are they going to send more A's by 3/15/2023? 🙁
Same. Hitting that refresh like crazy and checking my phone for calls.I hope so. I'm literally checking my email and SDN for any updates constantly.
Lol. I got several spam calls just alone today with 3 of them from 310 area code. I freaked out only to hear it's some robotic IRS agent.Same. Hitting that refresh like crazy and checking my phone for calls.

Oh don't fret. I got an encore performance, tooIf they don't just hand you an acceptance after that performance...
Would y’all choose a solid, well established DO school over CDU?
(and/or assuming DO school is close to home, cheaper tuition, & low COL)
I just saw this asked in Meharry’s chat so I wanted to ask here out of curiosity.
Hey! Did you submit a Letter of Intent? If no, I highly rec to submit it. Dm me if you have any questions.I don't know.

I would definitely do it. I personally think it would be equally hard to match to a competitive specialty. You might as well save some money and build some generational wealth.Would y’all choose a solid, well established DO school over CDU?

definetely not, MD is still MD at the end of the day. where you match is highly dependent on you, not just the school you graduate from.Would y’all choose a solid, well established DO school over CDU?

Yep, I definitely would, although there's no DO schools in Maryland, yet.Would y’all choose a solid, well established DO school over CDU?

You’re submitting LOI to Cdu?I did not but I willHow long should we keep the LOI?
You’re submitting LOI to Cdu?
Do they even read them? I sent an update letter a while back and never got a response
Yea it seems like the admissions committee is very small so idk how much they pay attention to emails ! That’s just what it seems likeNo clue. The person above recommended. I’m sure they already made decisions, so if I’m waitlisted I will.
Don’t do it. MD makes a big difference in residency match compared to DO in terms of difficulty matching at the higher tier programWould y’all choose a solid, well established DO school over CDU?

But if the applicant is interested in FM/IM, I think going the DO route is fine (plus cheaper COL, closer to home, etc).Don’t do it. MD makes a big difference in residency match compared to DO in terms of difficulty matching at the higher tier program
Dr. Loeza is the person dealing to the emails, reviewing applicants for interviews, etc; so yea large task for one person.Yea it seems like the admissions committee is very small so idk how much they pay attention to emails ! That’s just what it seems like
I think one of the best way to determine this is to go through some of the residencies you might be interested in and look at how many DOs matchedBut if the applicant is interested in FM/IM, I think going the DO route is fine (plus cheaper COL, closer to home, etc).
IM makes a difference. For example, USC hasn’t taken a DO to their IM program for like 10 yearsBut if the applicant is interested in FM/IM, I think going the DO route is fine (plus cheaper COL, closer to home, etc).
This and not everyone necessarily cares about "high tier program". Like let me just match. Lol but I know DOs who are in competitive specialities like Derm. DO isn't a death sentence for specialities. Might have an uphill battle but at least the established DO likely has a lot of official connections and partnerships set up to help you networkBut if the applicant is interested in FM/IM, I think going the DO route is fine (plus cheaper COL, closer to home, etc).
That part <3Yep, I definitely would, although there's no DO schools in Maryland, yet.
My student loans are already dumb expensive, so I gotta consider the financial aspect. Plus, to have familial support and my best friends near me again would be nice.
MD or DO. Imma make it shake
Exactly. it is also important to remember that they are trying to pass the FAIR act which might somewhat level the playing field for DO's. Harder maybe. Impossible definitely not. This and not everyone necessarily cares about "high tier program". Like let me just match. Lol but I know DOs who are in competitive specialities like Derm. Three things that would help determine it. 1) how much cheaper COA? You talking 10-15k/ year? Not big deal. 30-40k/year? Ok got to consider it. 2) what important is living at home and what’s the situation? Single and just you, eh moving away may be good. Family with little kids and retired parents? That would be a huge help if they are up for helping with the kids. 3) Interested in FM/IM/Peds or ortho/ortho/derm level of specialities.Would y’all choose a solid, well established DO school over CDU?

I’ll hold the sprinkler system from above to help get these effects. We’ll call it team work. 🤝 put it on our CV for residency.Oh don't fret. I got an encore performance, too

Hey thanks! I’ll do that first thing tomorrow. I’m unsure what to write or how to submit so I’ll DM you.Hey! Did you submit a Letter of Intent? If no, I highly rec to submit it. Dm me if you have any questions.
Is “310” the area code from admission’s? 😀Lol. I got several spam calls just alone today with 3 of them from 310 area code. I freaked out only to hear it's some robotic IRS agent.
No, 323Is “310” the area code from admission’s? 😀

they email for acceptance and not call.
The class size may be small but they’re likely sending 3 times the number of acceptancesShame. The class is small enough to congratulate each applicant. Especially since it is going to be their inaugural class.
That and the team is also small. The class size may be small but they’re likely sending 3 times the number of acceptances
Lmao me!! Like at this point I just wanna know, even if it’s an RView attachment 367451
