it seems like all the spots are filled.. i wonder when we will hear from them again.

good luck to all of us on hold and waiting...

hope to hear the acceptances on this forum soon....🙂

Hi guys. I will be withdrawing - I hope one of you gets the seat. Good luck!

I'm going to be withdrawing my acceptance as well. Rosalind, you broke my med school acceptance cherry, so I'll always have a fond place in my heart for you, but my life is going in a different direction now and I have to do what's best for me, so I'm afraid that our relationship cannot continue as it was. I hope that we'll be able to stay in touch though, and maybe we'll meet up again soon and have a different but still great type of relationship with each other. I wish you the best. 😉

Anyway, good luck to all you SDNers still hoping for an RF acceptance. There's about to be one more open spot there that you may get the chance to fill.

good luck to where you plan on going. i hope rosalind accepts me 🙁

One of my friends just received a hold mail, so expect to get something today or tomorrow...

good luck my fellow SDNers! 🙂

On hold...looks its the carrib for me

I'd strongly suggest that instead you take a year off and try reapplying to US schools again next year. If you can get into a carrib MD school, then you can probably get into a US DO school. I've heard lots of bad stuff about carrib schools.

Or consider an SMP, as sweetness34 mentioned.

also, the BMS program they have at rosalind franklin, the application deadline for that is June 15th.

it seems so far that there were no acceptances, but more holds again. i think that the class is full.

did anyone get a waitlist email? I know that a couple people mentioned that they got that earlier.

i think they probably did give out a few acceptances though. but if they give out a waitlist, that most likely means that the class is filled.

should i just apply again for next year?

I would do the BMS program and apply for next year. Since you already applied to CMS they will be able to get all of your information and you only have to pay $25. Basically all you will have to do is fill out the application and write an essay (which will not take any time). I was in your shoes last year and at the last minute decided to do the BMS program over this past year and I will now be starting at CMS in the fall. This is a great program and if you do decide to do it you will not regret it. If you have any specific questions about the program I would be glad to answer them just private message me.

the bms program does cost alot of money..... i wish i knew what the committee is thinking with my application 🙁

alright, it seems that RFU doesn't like me... they probably will reject me later on ....

i guess im going to focus more on the next cycle....

good luck to all you SDNers....

Hey everyone, I am returning to the pre-medical world and since I am applying this upcoming year to RFU, I thought it would be interesting to check out this forum. Judging by what I've read, this COM seems really unique in how there are still "hold" decisions being given out. It seems pretty late to me.

I have been through this process before and from a third party not involved in this situation, I would tend to think a hold is still a pretty positive thing because it ain't a rejection, especially this late in the process.

As far as the BMS program goes, I chose not to do an SMP a couple years ago for several circumstances in my life, but I would take it as a positive reflection if you did any of them (RFUs, Loyola, Georgetown to name a few) if I were an admissions person because it shows a clear dedication to being a doctor- you will be giving up a lot of money and a year of your life just to reach what you are convinced is your calling. Now, I want to go on to say this is not anything official I have heard from an actual admissions person or "how to be a successful applicant" kind of book and rather is just what I believe to be a reasonable conclusion to make since none of the programs offer degrees that give you tremendous options as far as a career goes and are essentially a means to an end to get into medical school and to be a student that can excel. When going through the decision process to do one, I recall the most compelling reasons to go to one are because these students not only get into medical school, but they can hit the ground running once in and usually end up being leaders at their respective schools.

i c, the thing is also that they have a waitlist as well... and instead of getting a waitlist email, there was a hold for me.... and according to the admissions office about 10% of waitlist people get in....thats the scary part

earlier i thought i had a chance but ive noticed there's pretty much no one on this thread that has interviewed since November...about everyone that i have spoken to have received an acceptance either here or else where. thats why i think my chances are pretty small now at RFU...

also there are people that have moved from a hold to waitlist... and about 10% of waitlist people get accepted...

When in Nov did you interview? Mine was on Nov 2.

I do not see why it matters when you interviewed. The moment someone is done with an interview, most schools treat it as though you are all equals.

Have you called the office? When I applied, it usually was not helpful, but all of this speculation is just going to confuse you.

Best of luck and I hope you get in. I have been in a similar situation and it is grueling, but all you can do is forget about it if there is nothing you can do, which by all accounts seems to be the case.

i called the office, and they usually tell me that everything is confidential, and i just have to await the decision... thanks for your wishes.. and i hope you get in as well.

for those on hold or the waitlist at RFU who may still be interested in being a student at RFU,their BMS program (Masters program for one year) deadline is on June 15th. In the program, a good number of students are accepted to their medical school.

good luck to us all.

heeere's to hoping there's another committee meeting looming for this week...
