Did all of you folks with an A get a completed app email? Also, for those that didn't get an A from the interview groups that did I got an email that I had some missing materials on 9/25. Im thinking that maybe that gets in the way!

I'm wondering if I should contact them to make sure all my materials are in. I interviewed early October and had all my boxes checked before then. I still haven't received an email saying that all my materials are in and ready to go in front of the committee.

Hi guys I just called the admissions office and I was told that all of the SCP applicants will be discussed at the same admissions committee meeting. So they said that was why I haven't received a complete email yet even though my application is ready to be reviewed. The person I talked to was unsure the date of the committee meeting though

So they are having a separate committee meeting for the SCP applicants vs. the regular decision applicants?

I don’t think it’s a separate meeting, they’re just trying to talk about all SCP applicants at the same meeting!

Thank you for calling! I was worried that I was missing items on my end even though everything is checked on the portal.

Anyone have anymore insight on SCP decisions? I still have not received that ready for committee review email post-II.

For those that have been accepted already, do you mind PMing me stats? I’m lowkey shocked to not see more acceptances but congrats to those who have received one already!

I bet they did not accept many other people during the October 15th committee meeting because they also accepted the EDP applicants at the beginning of October also. I would expect more acceptances coming out for regular decision in November.

Can anybody share their experience with when they get back to you regarding an interview date and when all the check marks on the status page change? I submitted the GradApp fee on 10/8 and everything is checked except for the "prerequisites met" (I know that I took what is required according to their website)

Finally got the app complete email. Interviewed 10/2, applied SCP but really confused about whether or not my interview was technically for SCP lol

Does anyone know when the November admissions committee meeting is?

They typically meet on the 15th or around that date every month, then acceptances go in the mail the next day. So people usually get their acceptance letters/portal updates on the 18th-22nd of each month. If you sign up for USPS Informed Delivery you can be alerted to the letter a few days before you actually get it though lol.

if you go to your portal where your interview location and time were, it will say if it was regular MD or not.

Mine says Regular MD but during my whole interview we talked about the SCP program...any other SCP applicants whose portal says Regular MD?

When I interviewed SCP, my interview tab also said it was regular MD and when I called to clarify, they said that they label all interviews as regular MD on the portal!

from this thread it looks like they interview a LOT of people? Is the post II acceptance rate pretty low?

Same. Every other interviewee at my interview was SCP, even the faculty acted as if it must have been intentional. Sounds like IU doesn’t even really know what’s going on rn with the SCP stuff

MSAR listed that IUSOM interviewed ~1,000 candidates last cycle (definitely a lot of people), and according to a US news chart people posted in the 2019-2020 MCW thread IUSOM's post-II acceptance rates are ~74% (IS), and ~39% (OOS). Pretty much on par with most schools.

The spreadsheet I have saved (made by @limeyguydr I believe) reports the same rates.

I don't think its surprising that they interview a lot of people, since they have the largest class of any US MD school (about 365 students start per year iirc).

For those of you who got an interview invite, I have two questions. Does the Dean of Students evaluation have to be mailed by the Dean themselves? For the legal disclosure form, did you mail that in as well or did you upload it on the application portal? Thanks!

The Dean of students mails (or preferably faxes) the form to IU themselves. The legal disclosure you upload to the portal. I didn't have to send any physical mail to IU for the pre-interview process.

This is just details (and I'm not certain it matters) but I'm pretty sure they actually meet the 9th of each month so that they send out acceptances on the 15th as advertised. Doesn't really alter when people find out - USPS takes 2-3 days regardless. 🙂

Ohh, thanks for the clarification! That actually makes more sense, as meeting one day then sending out letters the next day seemed rather fast to me.

Do you mind if I ask when they marked that they received your primary?

I have some state ties (family in Indianapolis) but without a secondary for this school I can’t express that to them, just curious if they’re still sending IIs by some date system or what percentage of IIs have gone out already

Sorry to bother this thread again with another neurotic question but did the CASPer box and green check mark show up in the Application Portal for any of you guys? I took it in the middle of August and had my score sent to IU immediately after I took it. The CASPer box and green check mark showed up in the portal for other schools I applied to but the CASPer box did not even show up for the IU Application Portal so I am just wondering if it's supposed to be like that or not.

Interviewed 10/9 and I had everything else in the portal checked out prior to the interview. Still had yet to receive the application complete email

I wouldnt worry about the casper thing. I interviewed 10/9, never had a casper box show up on my portal, and received the application complete email yesterday. I think it just takes them time to go through everyone?

Probably has been asked before but I submitted my graduate application fee last week and still haven't gotten a check mark for it on the portal. Is this normal? / How long does it take?
