So wait...not to add fuel to the fire but...people who DID get a complete email...how much time was there between the date you submitted your secondary and the date you got the complete email? I haven't gotten a complete email (yet...maybe its coming dun dun dun) but submitted my secondary back in early July.

I got the complete email about 1 sec after I submitted

Fire is already raging.

People have either gotten the complete email near the time of submit (within the day) or a while later (days to weeks)

The first is theorized to mean your app was automatically screened out by their algorithm. Perhaps to a “review later”. The second is theorized to mean your app was passed to a human reviewer, who then placed the app into “view later”.

I will say though that i can’t recognize any red flag with my app so who knows this automatic complete email might just be a whole joke

(Also this is not to be taken too seriously unless we find some meaningful statistic at the end of the cycle)

Out, out, brief application!
Applicant's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the portal,
And then is heard no more. It is an app
Told by an early rejection, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Hey dad,
I don’t see so good. Is that Bill Shakespeare over there...!?!

I like it. By the way, exactly what is that contraption in your avatar...?

It's really baffling to me how sloppy medical schools are with this process. They expect so much from us and then they can't even be bothered to make sure their applications work how they should. Pitt with complete emails is far from the worst offender too, I've had at least one school with an elementary school level grammar error in their secondary questions. It would be nice if they could display even a fraction of the consistency and effort they demand from all of us.

One of my state schools misspelled CASPer, and I can't begin to say how many emails I have gotten addressed to FIRST LAST or to _ (a space). Imagine emailing a school "Dear SCHOOL," ....

Mort here is doing the best he can to get through our apps as fast and thoroughly as possible.

This seems to be the common trend here. Complete email may mean some sort of screen/review out of the possible application pool. That being said take it with a grain of salt but so far no "data point" on SDN has proven otherwise.

Ignore the bolded

Very anecdotal but I want to add this. Me and my girlfriend both applied to Pitt and I consider her a much better applicant with respect to extracurriculars / activities and MCAT. However, my GPA is higher by about .10-.15. I DID NOT get a complete email and still haven’t (complete 8/1) and she DID almost immediately (complete 8/5).

It's either PITT or your girl now. Choose wisely, king.
