How does everyone feel the changing of step 1 to p/f will change the timeframe that students here take exams?
How so?How do you think Stony Brook is going to approach the Step 1 becoming P/F? With the current curriculum, wouldn't we have less time to study for Step 2?
Let me know if you have any other specific questions.I cannot thank you enough. Thank you thank you! This really helped me out a lot.
Hi all, wondering if anyone knows if Stony Brook is receptive to letters of intent?
Can someone tell me about interview day here? How long is it, what is the schedule like, etc?
You are the best! Thank you!Begins at 9:45. I would get there with plenty of time to spare bc it's quite hard to locate the building.
Everyone has 1 interview in the morning, some have both. Usually last 30 min each, but I had one in my cohort talk to one of his interviewers for 1 hr and 25 min lol.
Lunch + tour given by 3 MS1 students at 12.
3 talks by deans of admissions - 15 min each. Ends at 1:45. If you had both of your interviews in the morning, you can leave now. If not, most of us had our afternoon interviews scheduled for 1:45-2:15 (~30 min). One person had a 2 pm interview. They try their best to get you out of there asap which I appreciated. Most interviewers were 1 MD, 1 student. Some had 1 MD/1 PhD or just 2 MDs.
Wow where can I find that? Would you be able to share a link?Found some more data; they’ve had crazy Step 2CK scores recently wow. Good to know with all this Step 1 P/F stuff.

Here you go! It’s in the VIDYA newsletter from August 2019.Wow where can I find that? Would you be able to share a link?
Seems that most of acceptances will be off the HPWL, and if those people rescind they’ll make their way to the normal WLAre people still holding out hope for the normal waitlist here? Wondering if most of the WL movement comes from the HPWL
Any way of gauging how large the HPWL is?Seems that most of acceptances will be off the HPWL, and if those people rescind they’ll make their way to the normal WL
No specific source, but I remember reading on here that 30% of the WLs are HPWL.Any way of gauging how large the HPWL is?
Just sent you a dm 🙂Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
Would also like to know this please!!
+3 would also like to knowHi all, wondering if anyone knows if Stony Brook is receptive to letters of intent?
I asked the same question a couple of pages back lol. But apparently the committee doesn't interview for WL and everyone has the same chance of getting in regardless of the interview date.Just got an II a few minutes ago and wondering if they are interviewing serious candidates at this point still or if this will just be for a waitlist spot. anyone have thoughts/ideas?

I submitted my institutional financial aid app in June and received the award notification the next day. This was some years ago, so not sure if/how things have changed. Rest assured, though, that the person in the office of student affairs who deals with this is fantastic.Did anyone receive a financial aid package yet? or know when we can expect one? I submitted my finaid application last night lol, so just wondering if they're actively working on them yet
Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
No, I don't believe so. Nassau county, yes.Hi friend! Does SBU offer clerkships/rotations in NYC? Thank you very much!
There is an insitutional financial aid form in addition to FAFSA. Back when I started, I had submitted it in June (looked back at my emails). So I assume it's something that is sent out at some date after acceptance.does anyone know what is required for all financial aid here? I know there is FAFSA, but is there also school specific forms required, and if so what are they.
@Styrene How good is financial aid here? Do they often have tuition grants/scholarships? Any merit aid?
My friends all have loans. So do I. I believe there are some need-based scholarships/grants. I haven't heard anything about merit-based scholarships.@Styrene How good is financial aid here? Do they often have tuition grants/scholarships? Any merit aid?
