Interviewing for Boston later this month, any advice on the interview day or anything that especially impressed upon you?? I'm also relatively new to Boston so any recommendations for what to see or do around the Chinatown area? I'll have some extra time prior to the interview day.

Tufts is only a few blocks from a really nice shopping and tourist attraction called Faneuil Hall and the surrounding financial district. The Boston Common is also a beautiful park to walk through if it isn't all snowy. Walking a few more blocks will take you to the North End where there is arguably the best Italian food you'll have outside of Italy or NYC. Boston is a very walkable city, and it is much smaller than you may think, yet it has a big city feel. Enjoy your time there and good luck!

Just to provide a bit more information... The last II sent out mentioned here was 10/28, so it's been quite a while since they've done a large wave of interviews.

Looking at last year, there was a similar lull around this time. They started sending IIs again on 12/17, with the last one I could find on 2/4. There were two large waves of rejections on 12/21 and 2/5.

Of course that doesn't mean the same thing will happen this year, but there's a decent chance they'll follow a similar pattern.

Just based off my memory of the info session, I believe its open to everyone. I think they said they hope to have enough $$$ to give the scholarship to all ~40 in the future, so that makes it seem like even though its only enough money for half the students now, that state of residence doesn’t matter.

They don’t give merit scholarships only need based.

Actually I thought I heard the opposite about the Maine Track Scholarship? Can you confirm your source?

From my understanding, the Maine track scholarships are based on merit and open to all Maine Track matriculants. Right now there endowment covers about half (20) of the 40 students. For Maine IS matriculants there is a very low interest loan that they qualify for and I believe a third party scholarship opportunity.
