GIVE THIS PERSON A PRE-II ACCEPTANCE @tulane

So I got a delay in my application for Tulane and while I submitted secondary back around July 20th, my application was being held until August 5th.

As a result of this, and due to Tulane being early, I have virtually no chance here and I"ll have to add another school onto my list. Good luck to everyone else though that submitted early and is still in the runnings for Tulane!

Do you guys think its too late to submit the secondary within the next few days?
Save your $125, I would recommend adding another school to your list. Tulane operates way too fast and IIs are backed up all the way until mid December. It takes around 2-4 weeks to have your application seen after it is submitted and by that point if you get an II it might not be until February/March.

Damn I've been under review since 8/7 and nothing yet... does this mean I likely got passed up for an interview? Seems like a lot of other people who were under review after me got IIs

What? Literally everyone who posted today has been under review from 7/11-7/25. It's been 6 days and 2 of them were weekend days. Chill lol

Wonder if there's any chance for people complete around 7/20 like me any more. I was done 7/22. Oh well, best of luck to you interviewees!

I submitted 7/20 and just placed "complete and under review" today. Everyone has just got to chill. It's like second week of August.. even with a fast cycle, they still are going to have to compensate for all the failed interviews/fill their outstanding interview slots. Some people are just so melodramatic.

Is anyone else still waiting on a secondary to be sent? I was verified on July 26th and this is the only secondary I haven't received.
I'm in the same boat. Turned in the primary for Tulane August 1st and still have not received the secondary...

Take a deep breath. I submitted my primary to Tulane on 5/30 and I did not receive a secondary until 7/14 and I was not under review until 8/8.

Wow, I was just marked complete (was waiting for a couple of LORs) and they're already at January interviews. lol when they say apply early the poster school for that is Tulane.

One of my top choices. Bummer.

Dude, chill. It's early August.

I doubt anyone would know this, but does Tulane send out rejection letters one by one, or just a big email list at once?

Are they rejecting via email or just on the portal?
email. A little flowery

It is with much regret that we inform you that your application has been reviewed and we will not be able to interview you for the Tulane University School of Medicine incoming Class of 2020. This is a disappointment, almost as much for those who are responsible for the decision as it may be for you, the applicant who is turned away.

Actually kind of sincere and sad lol

This rejection letter is as kind as it could get, even though no one wants this news lol.

For a school that does rolling admissions, interviewing in January is bad compared to interviewing in October or Sept.

This is the reality for every school. Interviewees that go first statistically have a higher chance than those later on.. but they would not continue offering interviews if that spot could not be yours. I highly doubt Tulane considers their next class sufficiently full by mid-August. If they're still handing out interviews, then everyone still has a chance.

it *is* the logic for every school. If you check other threads, you'll see that most schools are scheduling in October or September right now, if they've even begun to send II at all.

You are arguing against a point that I, or the other posters, did not make. At no point did we say that January people are not eligible to be admitted, merely that it is bad, statistically as you point out, to be interviewed that late in the cycle compared to being an October or September interviewee.

For those of you with interviews/rejections how long did it take them to get back to you from the time your application went under review?

From what I've seen, it looks like 1-2 acceptance cycles after you get verified (so like 2 weeks). Since rejections just started coming out in the past two weeks, probably another two weeks on top of the initial 2 review weeks.

This is my point to say "dude, chill" to someone moping, suggesting that this school should be forgotten about and being "bummed" by this realization; waving the flag so-to-speak. There is still a chance. It is mid-August. Chill.

Y'all..check your spam.. I thought I didn't receive a secondary either and I just happened to see it today. They sent it July 30th...
You bring up a good point. We ALL should be checking spam/junk few times per week as some medical school's emails do end up there. One of my secondaries was in spam. Didnt know until 2 weeks later.
