I was on academic probation in college and got a secondary. Not sure if this counts.
Hi, I was just wondering if you put your academic probation as IA on your app.

Yes, I explained it in the IA section.Hi, I was just wondering if you put your academic probation as IA on your app.
It looks like UCLA is moving to a curriculum similar to Duke’s (one year preclinical, third year dedicated to research).
Any current students know anything about this?
Third yr research yr would be amazing if true!!

+1This is a game changer for me.
Just had my interview. This is actually not true! There will be changes but third year will be clerkships. The full implementation of the new curriculum will be for incoming class of 2021.Yes. The first to use it

Oh, so weird, at my interview in August they told us it would be used for class of 2020!
does anyone know if they have a policy regarding thank you notes post interview? I know some schools have very specific ways they want you to submit them

Also curious...For people who interviewed - did you use the schedule that was on your portal email or the schedule that was on the original pdf that they asked you to save when you scheduled the interview that disappeared after you closed the interview date selection page? Portal email says 9:45 but the original doc said 8:15. The addresses listed for the interviews are also different.
Really scared to show up 1.5 hours late to the wrong building lolAlso curious...
I’m going with what’s in the email.Really scared to show up 1.5 hours late to the wrong building lol

If the implementation is delayed as suggested, wouldn't the incoming/currently interviewing class be the ones with the first overlapping clerkships? Is this something to be concerned about as an applicant? Most of us are not too happy about this. Most of us don't want to share our 3rd year clerkship with MS2, especially this is the first time the clinical sites are taking double the students

Email and instructions on the portal are the same for me so you should be fineOk just to make sure everyone is on the same page
After I selected my interview date, the portal page refreshed and gave me my interview date instructions.
But I never received a followup email confirming my date. Is that normal

Just in for my every-other-week check in - anyone with an IA get a secondary?
Anyone non-MD/PhD?I received and completed an MD/PhD secondary and I have an IA
Same and I agree.Interviewed here today. Honestly a really chill interview. Faculty interviews were very conversational. MMI wasn't extremely challenging either. Overall a very good experience. The culture on campus was great. Definitely impressed me.
Many places don't send IIs in order of when secondaries were sent out. I think UCLA is one of those schools. What are we up to, What’s most recent submission date for secondary who has received Geffen II?
regular MD app here...no word yetAnyone non-MD/PhD?
Phasing in. No research year for this cycle’s incoming class.@EmbryonalCarcinoma Any update on the curriculum developments?

Interviewed here yesterday. I heard some people had unpleasant experiences with their interviewers. does anyone remember if the staff gave us a window for when we could expect to hear back? I forgot to ask.
Sounds good! The question was asked by someone at my interview day and it seemed like the admin was not concerned about it, they were looking for additional sites/already had additional sites. I really loved UCLA and don’t want this to get in the way of my excitement about the potential to come here! If you could let us know about updates as you may hear of them that would be wonderful. Our class(current MS1)'s primary focus is to work with the curriculum education admission to sort this out and ask for a manageable plan/solution to this situation for your class and ours. Similarly, last MS1(current MS2) fought hard with the admission committee and asked them to postpone (hopefully indefinitely) with the hard cut-off screen.
However, I wouldn't worry about this until second look. So I would say this is something to be concerned about as an accepted applicant
When you interview there is a whole presentation on it.I've seen a few posts about curriculum changes. Anyone mind elaborating on a few specifics? Thank you 🙂
