2019-2020 UCLA (Geffen)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I didn’t get the email, but this is from earlier in the thread:
Today (12/20) people got an email that says:

"I want to wish you all Happy Holidays! Our Admissions Committee is working diligently to get decisions to students as soon as possible. Our admission cycle will be rolling into the new year, so you can still expect to hear from us in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience. If you need to contact us for any reason, our office will be closed from end of business today through January 1st."

Does anyone know when second look is for those who have been accepted already? I'm trying to plan a trip in April and need to take into account just in case i get in here lol

I no longer have anything listed under "status" --> "document status"? ha... Is this the same for others?

I recall, for me, it used to have a line that said the time and date of my committee letter submission from my advisor, but I could be mistaken
Mine were all individual letter writers so maybe that’s why I never had it

Does anyone know if UCLA adcom also reviews Prime and Drew programs at the same time as regular MD program?

For those accepted, are we suppose to receive some sort of information packet on the next steps, housing, how geffen scholarship works etc.? Or is that all done in April? Thanks for the help in advance 🙂

I just got an email about financial aid yesterday. Other than that all I've gotten is info about second look

PRIME is done interviewing already, not sure what their process is but only had 3 interview days in Nov. not sure about drew

Two questions:
Anyone complete in July and still haven't heard any news from Geffen?
Any PRIME interviewees also interview with Geffen?

Yes and n=1 but no. Assuming I’m a prime only candidate
Edit to add at my prime day I think I remember that none of the other applicants I talked to had gotten a Geffen invite, of the 6 or so that I was talking to at the time

Scared to ask but.....No word yet?

Nothing yet :/ I'm not sure anyone has any insight into this at all, but if we interviewed a while ago and have heard nothing back, is there some possibility we are still being considered for a spot in the class, or is it likely a rejection?

Is there an admitted students FB page, and if so, how many people are in it?

(Might give us some insight on how many As they've given out//how many are left to give?)

Congrats to everyone who got A'd off the WL! Kind of confusing though haha, you'd figure they would wait until later to start pulling people off the waitlist. Lots of people haven't heard anything back. I'm guessing this means lots of R's (but hopefully also A's) are incoming?

Congrats to everyone who just got accepted!

There still might be some hope for those of us who haven't heard back though. Based on the UCLA main website, individuals who are given a UID either means they have been accepted or waitlisted. If you log into the portal, you might see a UID at the top right-hand corner near your name. Kind of makes sense because a university wouldn't give people who are rejected university ID's. That being said, I believe most people should have a UID because UCLA's default is to put people on the waitlist (apparently). Considering it's still so early to be pulling people off the waitlist, it's likely that those who haven't heard back are on the waitlist and that UCLA releases decisions in batches instead of all at once. It also doesn't make sense to start rejecting people post-interview without knowing exactly who is and who is not definitely attending their school.

Hmmm would love to see more data on this from others!
