when did you interview?Just received an email, got placed on the alternate list
11/22when did you interview?
Is there a second look day at SLU? If not, does anyone know if they are receptive to you calling and asking to visit if you are an accepted student? SLU was my first interview and acceptance back in October, so I kind of wish I knew then what I know now. I could definitely come up with some better questions to ask.
Thanks! I will watch for the notification. They have a second look day. The date isn't official yet though.
Rejected pre-II. LizzyM 72-74. Complete in mid July.
may be over qualified - in that case: congrats!Placed on alternate list as well. Interviewed 11/28. LizzyM 73-75 and URM from a top 5 University. I thought everything went well during my interview day...interviewer and I clicked, all smiles, fairly deep conversations...I don't know. This whole process is like black magic to me. But alas, good luck everyone else!
Who did you interview with?
Are they done with II's? I haven't been notified of a rejection yet.hopefully they aren't done giving out acceptances?
Is there a difference between wait list and alternate list?
hmmm well i recently got a job as a senior clinical coordinator position focusing in mental health not sure if that helps me and volunteering in pyschiatric emergency but this was just in the last few months sent and email to them updating this information but not sure if this would be considered extraordinary Q_Q guess ill have to retake MCAT and try again next yearI think that you are not necessarily screwed with a lower MCAT, but unless you have done extraordinary work/service/research over the past year to show them that they were wrong last year not accepting you, then it may have hurt you.
See #446What is the interview like here?
Someone in the office of diversity/multicultural affairs. Don't want to give too many details
I just got an II yesterday. There were slots for February and March. Still time I think. Are they done with II's? I haven't been notified of a rejection yet.

Whoa what. Thanks for correcting me. My apologiesJust called the Office of Admissions. They do not have a second look day, but she said accepted students are welcome to come back, tour the campus, and ask questions at any time.
So I have an interview coming up and I am wondering what people who have interviewed there/attend there/work there think makes SLU special? What sort of research is there? How do their students match?
I can't believe SLU does not offer second look 🙁 Also, has there been any word about a facebook group?
Amazing BBQ food. Also I heard their cafeteria has a nice student discount.
SLU has good BBQ food?
Mind if I ask when you interviewed?alternate listed today. I'm seeing a lot of alternate lists- maybe they have given out all acceptances until they are withdrawn?

Oh my goodness yes. I went to Pappy's BBQ after my interview, it's pretty close to campus. Best ribs I've ever had!
II today from outta nowhere
sick
Where else did you get in?Same...
I am considering taking the offer, but am still unsure.
I'm in the same boat! I also got an II here yesterday, but I have an acceptance to one of my top choices. I've also heard the advice though that if at all possible, you should just go to any interviews you get because you never know how the school will impress you or what kind of financial aid package you might get if you get an offer of acceptance. I'm still thinking on it though.Same...

Is that enough of a factor to sway you to go to SLU? haha

Haha I'm still on the fence where I'm going to go, and anything helps!
Proud to say I went to Bogarts! Definitely makes you love the area immediately.I've lived in St. Louis for a couple of years and let me tell you: Pappy's is the popular big name but they are far from the best BBQ in StL. Check out the Bogarts for really good ribs, Sugar Fire for incredible saucy bbq (and their sister restaurants Hi-Point Drive Thru for good burgers and SugarFire Pie for sugar and delicious pies), and Salt & Smoke for the best all-around BBQ (one of my favorite restaurants in StL, DEFINITELY get their Mac&cheese). Honorable mention for BBQ include Vernon's and the Shaved Duck.
For the uninitiated, St. Louis BBQ is often grilled and then slathered in delicious sauce, so prepare to get messy. Definitely worth a try.
Don't know anything about Loyola. St. Louis seems to have a great culture, and good on-site rotations though.any of you have any insight comparing this school to Loyola Stritch SOM?
